I'm just curious if this is known about or has been discussed -

Here are some examples off eBay that don't appear to show the doubling:

Showing the whole medal would be very helpful. I don't think you will get very many responses with these pictures.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I remember Joe Levine telling me maybe 15 years ago when I found an error on a medal, "There really isn't a market for mistakes or errors when it comes to medals". I guess this is still the case.
Thanks for looking anyways everyone. Love the forum, its been a while since I've been on.

i was noticing the different look on the lettering and wondering how many are re-strikes and how many are beaten up. how many did they make? (guess die pairs)

Medal collectors are often interested in the artistic value of the medal. Minor doubling would actually be considered a defect to collectors who value perfection in their art.

    All glory is fleeting.

No other photo needed. The double die is very clear on some of the letters. Now, you'll need to see if all these medals are doubled.
