Cannot Report a Cert That Should Match This Composite

Just errors. Trying to add a 2024-D Jefferson to my Jefferson Nickels Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1965-present) set.

It is not a FS, so the pcgs number is not allowed.

The registry page has been broken for months, with no solution in sight, as far as most of us can tell, with one guy in the registry busting his hump trying to do the work of ten people, and what I can only assume is ten guys in an I.T. department sitting on their humps, unable to do the work of one :-/

Pretty much the only current option is either to email them directly at
    pcgssetregistry@collectors.com
probably with a subject/heading of "Report a Cert That Should Match This Composite"
and include the set title (Jefferson Nickels Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1965-present) ) the cert number, and a quick description of "why" ("non-F/S not recognized" or similar). Include your name/username (not sure how necessary that actually is, but it seems proper)

Alternatively, you can reach their help page at the very bottom menu on any of the PCGS pages (Not the registry page, at least not that I've found) -- under the "Contact Us" heading, "Help and Support"
    (shortcut here: https://www.pcgs.com/contactus )
Under "Request type" select "PCGS Set Registry" and add in the details everything referenced in the email section above.

I don't know if either method takes priority, ie which reaches human eyes first, it may be worth sending in both places. It seems like the registry staff does a pretty good job of responding, once they actually get the messages it's just a huge gamble for when that would actually happen. [sigh]

  • I am having the same issue with trying to add a Regular Strike (non-FS) 2024-D Kennedy half to my set (Kennedy Half Dollars Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1964-Present)). As oldsmagnet suggested, I've tried (for the past two months) to reach out to PCGS--both via message sent through PCGS' website, and by calling a leaving a phone message with PCGS customer service--neither has resulted in any action or even a response from them. VERY frustrating!

I have tried both of the above contact methods with no result. I will call and try to speak with a person when I get a "round tuit".

I initially emailed regarding this type of issue on February 7th. I followed up via phone twice and email once. Emilio reached out to me on February 28th and resolved my issues. The time and effort required to solve these issues is disheartening but I consider myself lucky that my problem was fixed in the end.

Same here. tried to add a 2024 innovation dollar. It was graded by PCGS by evidently not in the PCGS registry. I'm thinking PCGS does not see a revenue stream from registry additions and has back burnered these issues. Maybe they will realize that the registry is a huge (albeit indirect) driver of revenues and fix these issues. I also have a coin that I paid five figures for that I cannot add because it is still registered in the prior owner's registry and PCGS has not responded to my four emails after the three day waiting period. Has soured me on PCGS and collecting in general......

In case it's been missed in other threads - if it's in an NFC holder you can add them directly through the PCGS app, bypassing ALL of the waiting nonsense. It works GREAT (one of very few PCGS-related features I can say that for) but it's only for the NFC-embedded holders. MAYBE it'll work for yours?

@oldsmagnet Thanks for the suggestion. i downloaded the app. The coin in question does have a NFC chip. The app scanned the coin..BUT same old same old from PCGS . The coin is registered in another collector's inventory...send email..wait three days...blah blah blah. GEEZ...get with the program PCGS!!

Never had an issue using the NFC CHIP.
The issues, as we all know, comes when the slab does not contain one.
I have 24 Kennedy registry sets.
I have multiple issues with all of them except 7 sets.
Most will not recognize the 2024 coins nor allow the reporting of certs that should be accepted into the set.

As long as the "Report a Cert That Should Match This Composite" is broken, we are all at the mercy of PCGS.
It seems that our hosts only are interested in generating new foreign sets.
We might just have to wait until enough of the new, foreign sets run into the same issues that the U.S.A. sets are having, to be addressed and fixed.

Message board just lost my comment.... grr...

Summarizing, in case it actually shows up again ---

Make sure it's the actual "PCGS Set Registry App" -- and not Coinfacts or My Account or any of the other handful of PCGS mobile apps that really don't do anything. Make sure "NFC" is activated in your phone settings (I think you've already probably done that part too) - make sure you're logged in on the app and can see access your inventory/sets/etc (I don't know if it's possible to run without being logged in)

Scroll down on the "home" tab, (below the "Dashboard" panel with boxes for sets and active/sold items) -- in the "Quick Add" panel, click "Scan NFC" and touch the phone to the slab. That SHOULD automatically grab it and bypass ALL of the wait-for-pictures nonsense. IF all of that still doesn't work, well, then we've got a new and improved failure to contend with within the Set Registry system.

@oldsmagnet I really appreciate your help! I've done all this. Scanning barcode just gets me "already in another registry" The scan NFC just gets a rotating circle. I know my phone has NFC enabled...it's in the settings.

That is highly disappointing :-( That app had been a pretty stable workaround for these problems - guess they really just won't want us to have nice things :-/

Is your phone able to scan other NFC slabs successfully? And, I guess to address the potential elephant in the room, is there any chance you're holding a counterfeit in your hand??? :-o

    THANK YOU @PCGS_Hy

Looks like PCGS reads these boards after all. PCGS_Hy attacked the issue and sent several emails back...both to my personal email and here. I was able to add the coin without any problem after Hy fixed the issue.

PCGS offers good customer service. It may take some time, but they will get to it. In my post above I indicated that I would continue to contact them and I did get the issue addressed in the response below. In my case I believe it was that my inventory item was a variety rather than the base number and it just was not assigned to the registry set.
