Ruth, Musial Pricing Help .......

augustamanaugustaman Posts: 586 ✭✭

Looking to possibly unload these and could use the board's knowledge to assist in estimating value. The Ruth has a clean back but you can see the issues on the back of the Musial.
Any input is appreciated, thanks.

I wouldn’t expect very much for the 1948 Bowman Stan Musial card, if anything. It’s just too beat up. Missing a chunk or back damage might be passable but I think both knocks that down to the $20-50 range - if that.

The Ruth probably nets you more since it’s more likely to be found in rough shape given it’s age and ‘hand cut’ and ‘strip card’ nature - I think it’s more acceptable for that card to be a bit worn down.

And I’d probably have some interest in the Ruth, if it helps.

    Good luck either way.

  • Thanks for the input. Anyone have any thoughts on the Ruth card?

Best bet is to look up similar Ruths of ideally, that particular strip card, or other similar strip Ruths, in the lowest possible "authentic" assessment, and go from there. Not being in the market for these, not sure any ballpark value I'd give wouldn't be a WAG.
