Dug Large Cent - Any Ideas About Date/Type?

A friend of mine found this coin in a farm field about 50 years ago. I was wondering if any experts here can weigh in. To me the star locations look like a braided hair, but the bust looks like a cornet head. The coin weighs 8.5 grams and has a diameter of about 27 mm.

Something like this one.
Coronet head cent made between 1816 to1839 is the best I can do.

Correct, though I’ll add that it’s pre-1836, due to the style of the (stubby) coronet, which was changed mid-year in 1835.
A pretty cent from the Naftzger collection. It was my #1 target for the date when I attended the 2009 auction (on Super Bowl Sunday). But it slipped away. Is it yours?

Wow, cool memory and story.
Clearly a beautiful and memorable coin!
It's not mine.
I just picked it randomly as an example of the head type from CoinFacts.
Here is the 1828 large cent from my "one a year set." Some are high grade, others are more like this. I don't want to lay out a fortune for every coin.
Still a very choice cent, @BillJones .
Except for the Randall hoard coins, pretty much everything pre- 1834 is difficult in nice condition like that.
I could try to hunt them all down looking like this, but that's expensive.
Wow!
