PSA Grades Popped........Very Very Happy

milbrocomilbroco Posts: 2,755 ✭✭✭✭

Well my submission just popped. Most were popped from CSG holders and submitted. Most were as I expected losing a half to two full grades but PSA is more accurate. The Football Bucks were raw submissions and truthfully, they graded as I expected.

I see that N1 in there.

From recent experience I'm seeing more of those come back that way on vintage. I'd recently sent a bunch (60s/70s) in that were Miscuts/Min Size and they all came back this time N1. Not to be a conspiracy theorist but that seems like a new cash grab technique.

I don't think it is trimmed. I believe I got it in a collection from a someone I worked with about 25 years ago. He was not a collector but someone who had cards from his childhood. Another 71 Simmons from that collection came back as a PSA 8.5 several years ago. I sold that last year.
So I am going to take that N1 and see how it measures to other 71's I have from that collection.

From Pop Zero to Pop 3, congrats!

Yeah, I know most of mine were either because I'd had them for years or pulled the late 70s myself. Just a bit of an oddity that seems to be a recent thing I've seen more often.

Not really sure what it's about.

I would imagine they want and need to be extra careful when it comes key cards and if there was any doubt, grade it as N1.

Are the lower PSA grades worth less/same/more than they were in their CSG holders?

  • milbrocomilbroco Posts: 2,755 ✭✭✭✭

No idea. I wanted them in PSA holders.

I assume the Topps Bucks were uncirculated & not bent or creased?

If so, do you have any Minnesota Vikings available for sale or trade?

    Congrats on the grades.

    Enjoy your collection!

Agreed get them out of those! CGC/CSC now are nothing more than Junk Slabbers for Omega. IMHO TAG is much more desirable than CGC/CGS

estang - Yes it seems they were never circulated and never creased. I will need to check if I have any Vikings but I only picked up a few in tis lot.

    Thanks!

Probably just depends on the grader. I recently sent in an order where probably half the cards were from a stack of really old min size/miscuts I'd had in my closet for 6-12 years. I got back 7-8 min size's and no n1's. I do think I put the grader on alert though as a few I'd never submitted came back min size and I think they're ok. Undoubtedly better to spread those out more, but I didn't have much vintage on hand.
