While I understand the value of slabbed coins, I really like coins in albums more. So I've stopped getting slabbed coins lately. I've been working on this set for about 4 months and am pretty happy where I'm at. Well I did break out 4 coins from slabs to add to the album, but they don't count.

Love albums or Capital plastic. Sadly, not a good $$ move for what I collect. Closest I can get are Lighthouse slab display boxes. Very Nice set above.

Very fun set you have underway, I had not seen that particular Dansco album before. Question @hfjacinto , are the Morgan dollars all Philly issues or did you use some branch mint coins for the date holes.

Cool album BTW. I like how the mint marks display in addition to the years. A great way to display type as well. I’m headed for the Dansco website.

This is a nice idea, and I understand your desire to form a raw set. Just be careful when you get to the better dates. The Chinese make reasonable looking "circulated" counterfeits that are worth virtually nothing.

This will be especially true for the Liberty Seated dates. Chinese counterfeits of those have been around for over 15 years. They made camplete counterfeit set housed in a counterfeit Dansco album.

@BillJones , the 2 harder coins are the 1893 and 1895, I would only buy these slabbed or from the 2 dealers I trust.

The 1921 Peace, Morgan CC and 1904 all were slabbed and broken out.

This album starts with Morgan’s and ends with SBA , no seated Liberty coinage.

The title said you were going back 1872.

    Oops! You corrected it.
