What are some of your favorite or "best" old discussions?

I'm very new here so I missed a lot of interesting and informative discussions. Apparently, it is not good manners to resurrect very old discussions such as the one about Proof 1921 Peace dollars. I'd like to read more past threads but don't know where to start. I did look up past discussions about cleaning coins this week but I'm sure there are more interesting subjects. Do you remember any "great discussions" you can link?

Smitten with DBLCs.
The 1907 $20 HR Arizona counterfeit story was my all time favorite. Maybe someone could provide a link?
A familiar request.

I guess this was asked before proving there is not much new under the sun. It's no wonder the longtime members get cranky with us.
I've been here 19 years.
Just ignore the cranky ones.
Yeah, I guess @Catbert is right. Nobody has any favorite threads. Nothing good or interesting has every been posted here and we welcome newer members by essentially telling them to get lost.
I think that the “Moon landing conspiracy” from the old open forum is and always will be the best ever.
There was some top level humor in there. Too bad that forum is long gone!
Here's a great seminar on Counterfeit Detection that was given last year by our very own @BillJones:

Certainly, of great importance to anyone...But especially, for a newbie.

Meh. I'm not cranky. The request was familiar and echoed someone who has used many aliases. Anyway, there were some links in the link I provided

Great collection of individual threads on bust halves. Sadly, many pics are now missing do to where they were stored.

Coin Photographer.
Saintguru’s thread on getting a private view of the Smithsonian collection was pretty awesome.
Sorry - I don’t have a link.

I was always partial to the Hansen collection post/updates.
Going back to my previous username nwcs when I was here 20 years ago I’d say Coinolot. I was only in one of them as I’m not interesting or controversial enough Clankeye had a talent for writing. Not sure it would be as popular these days.
I can also add the saga of ACG discussions here way back when. Lots of firecrackers and flamethrowers there.
Yes, the request is familiar but not for newbies-by definition.
Thank you for the link. It IS useful. We need specific threads for @4Redisin.
I will find an interesting forum member and do a deeper dive on their past comments.
You can mine for nuggets of wisdom on specialties etc...
Some quality members have gotten the ban hammer and some sadly pass away.

I peeked at those old threads, man it would be nice to see all the preserved photos. Maybe we should start a new one!

Gotta look up the 1909 S VDB fake coin fueled by the Harsche coin pamphlet - I can't remember the members name - it was something like "Mr1831" ??? It only took a year or 2 to make him realize his Cent was a fake!
