NYC International show brief report
While we are not huge world coin dealers how can we not at least visit a show in our backyard…. The show is held at a hotel just a few blocks from Grand Central so it’s a pretty ez trip for us to attend
The show started with dealer preview Thursday and runs til Sunday but weather looks iffy Sun. Regardless registration went smoothly as previous kinks seem to be worked out…. Or maybe turnout was much lighter than years past? Can’t say for sure but it did not seem as crowded. Recommend pre registration for $25 you can attend all three days
One of our priorities was the promotion of the newer IMEX coin show so we were quite busy talking to each and every dealer about the show in Sept with 426 tables. It’s going to be huge and if you want information please visit our Facebook page IMEX for info
One of the great benefits to stopping bye this show is that you can drop off coins for submissions to NGc and PCGS AAA well as dropping off coins for great collections. It was great seeing Andy from GC even if I just saw him at FUN last week lol
Purchased a coin that I missed a year or two ago. Great chopmarks Here’s a pic
Well lots to see. Funny meeting an overseas dealer who had some paper money that I needed for a clients want list. You just never know what you will find at any given show.
Many of these dealers I’ll spend time with in two weeks in Berlin at the international show there
Anyway high light for me was lunch with my daughter at a great diner named after me. John’s Diner. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a great meal at a reasonable price.
Waffles with chicken for me
Anyway sorry for this report being short but I have to get ready for Sun show in PA tomorrow
All the best to my PCGS friends
Ciao

Thanks for the show report, Jon. Nice pick-up! Are you a chopped collector?
8 Reales Madness Collection
I enjoy the chops and reading up on them. Several good books on what they mean. Also have a few clients that ask me for them now and then
I overheard someone going to the different tables to promote IMEX this morning but I had to keep an eye on my daughter so didn't turn around and see you. Sorry to miss you!
That's a nice chopped 2R... Unfortunately there was exceedingly little chopped material there for me.
Andy from GC was busy when I went by but I did have a chance to say hi to @MrEureka and @CoinRaritiesOnline
Off to Momofuku for some delicious ramen!
Nice chopmarked Portrait Two Reales! The denomination is slightly easier to find than their crown counterparts, but that's a relative term - they're not all that easy to find on an absolute basis, particularly attractive.
