Does anyone have an opinion on if it's worth getting this half dollar graded? Does it appear to be a details coin or a straight grade? What type of grade do you think it is? What do you think it is worth? All thoughts appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

Maybe. Can't really tell if it might be hairlined from the pic. These come nice, so it would have to grade pretty high to be worthwhile. This is a rare, low mintage date (about 3000 struck), sold at $2.50 each, nearly all were probably saved.
Does hairlined mean cleaned?
Thanks For the Comments,
Tim
Yes, abrasively, leaving tiny, fine lines that affect luster. Even a few of these, just from something hard sliding across the surfaces, not necessarily cleaning, will downgrade the coin. More hairlines (as from cleaning) can prevent the coin from getting a straight grade or holdered.
I understand. I guess that is part of the game of buying raw coins. I've had my ups and downs.
Thanks Again,
Tim
Give it a shot.
Who knows what the graders will say.
