Welcome to the Forum. Looks like a bit of post mint damage if you weren't already aware.

1030? I didn't know they made Jefferson nickels that old!

    Welcome to the forum
Did you have a question on your nickel?

  • Not really just thought I’d share it.

My first through from seeing the reverse first was Henning.

    This is odd as well!

  • You can see the punch marks on the back coming through just a little bit

Congrats, it appears you do have a henning counterfeit nickel. Look at the indented bottom left leg on "R".
Never seen a distorted 9 into an 0 before, though. Hopefully, someone with better knowledge of counterfeits will respond.

I'm pretty sure that is not a Henning. It does not have a "hole" in the "R", just a little ding.

    Just a damaged 38 or 39.

The hole/looped “R” is out of position compared to this 39 Henning.

    Not a Henning.

    Just PMD, obverse and reverse.

Sorry folks and thank you jm. Not very smart on the counterfeit, obviously. My only knowledge of the fake was the hole. Had I looked at a photo, I would have known. Such as it is.
    Again thanks for the info.
