    I hope it’s endless :) .

So much complaining lately about beautiful (mostly) original surface gold.

The more prices come down, the more I can collect!

Agreed. I have my eye on a scarce date coin. It's not as scarce as it was a few years ago... hoping I can snag it for a nice discount!

Stacks should merely disclose what’s coming. Withholding information is widely known as a detrimental, and frankly in 2025 should be considered unacceptable.

Even if bullion prices are insane currently

  • It’s not only stacks selling the hoard. Other companies are not labeling them Fairmont.

The "look" can be spotted elsewhere, though I have not seen the rarer branch mint offerings elsewhere. But maybe I am not looking hard enough.

i've been seeing commercials on tv saying "buy this old gold hoard, only 400 of this coin. limited!" I had no proof they were fairmont until I saw the name in a background image. I think we're up to different offering #5

Yes, absolutely keep ‘em coming. What a bonanza for US gold collectors!

And kudos to Stacks Bowers for professionally handling this massive boatload of treasure.

30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!

I just got the catalog for the Fairmont February auction in the mail. One thing of note is that Brian Kendrella states in the introductory note that this “Riviera Set” is the final set of Fairmont coins that Stacks Bowers will auction.

The half eagles (what I collect) are down to the nubs but there look to be some higher grade coins in the higher denominations. All FWIW.

The auction is ongoing so I don't want to name the specific coin (DM me if you are interested), but I put in a bid on a somewhat scarce but not rare branch mint half eagle right at Greysheet. I am leisurely putting together a MM set of no motto half eagles but it's not a priority so, if I got this for a good deal, great, if not, I'm perfectly happy to wait.

I was outbid yesterday. Who knows where it will end up but it won't be a screaming bargain regardless.

When they are done selling, when there is no more market impact, I really hope they will fill-in-the-details on the origin of the hoard. Don't need names, but just the basic outline.

For many of us, the story behind the coins are as interesting as the coins themselves.
