Only one week to go. The weather forecast calls for highs in the 50's and low in the 40's, so bring a coat.

At least it won't be as cold as one year it got down to 25 degrees early in the evening. Brought a thin coat which helped a little.

I'm actually planning on going for the first time. Always wanted to. Only a 90 minute drive for me. As far as the temp goes I have to remember coin shows are always hot inside due to the lamps. I end up carrying my coat around with me. Maybe the FUN show is more comfy due to its large size and better ventilation? Or just leave coat in car and walk the short distance.

I usually wear a hoodie & wrap it around my waist when it gets warm inside the bourse. No need to carry a jacket or coat around that way.

My first FUN was 2024 - and I didn't ever use the phrase "short distance!" The parking lot was immense, and we got a spot WAAAAY out. Then, just getting in to the bourse thru the massive stairs / lobby was a schlep. Good exercise - but I just wanted to vector your expectations a bit.

Won't be at FUN but will be at PAN. Not sure how this has become the self-proclaimed "most important" show of the year??? I was planning make plans to Snowbird to FL once but thank baby logic I decided to listen to my Grape. SMPR!

I'll be at Jeff Shevlin's table (So Called Guy) for all of the FUN show helping him... my first time at FUN after years of trying to get there. I have a big number of items to submit to PCGS. Come by and look at SCDs and rare historical medals; there will be some rare items there.

It is the largest show of the year and the first show of the year, so it is the most important.

Is it larger than the ANA last August? Genuine question.

The excitement here can be described in one word....giddy!....so much excitement, and I'd love to go too but you really need to plan these things. How would you compare this show with the one in Baltimore? Boston? If I were to go to a coin show, I'd probably start with one closer to home (Northeast)...

I go to Winter FUN and Summer ANA every year and the FUN show has grown so much that the ANA is not even close anymore.

As far as show size I believe it is Fun, ANA, CSNS ( since it has been revitalized ) and Summer FUN. Baltimore and Long Beach fall somewhere after those with everything else far behind. I base this on having attended every ANA since 1970, only having missed 5 FUN shows since 1973, and having missed only one CSNS show since 2013.

I have never been to the Boston show but have attended the Whitman Baltimore shows and the FUN show.

I recommend you start with the Baltimore show but make sure you attend the first one of the year (Winter) as it is usually the bigger one.

I have attended one FUN show and it was much larger than Baltimore.

Plus PCGS has their luncheon event at FUN and I was lucky enough to attend. It is invite only and very popular so if you ever get the opportunity it is a must attend event.😎

The added bonus is the warm weather in January so be sure to take your significant other so they can enjoy the outside warm temperatures while you attend the show!🤣😂

Was it last year or the year before?? Regardless, PCGS did not have a Luncheon, they had happy hour instead. I don't recall anyone thinking it was great or even a good idea. No speakers, no information shared, Not even a PCGS rep. Just a room with booze and snacks. So I am glad to see the Luncheon is back on. ( Not that I am against booze or snacks!) but it seems the luncheon was the ONLY time you ever heard a word from PCGS management. Let's hope they have something to say.

    Stop by and say hello!

P.S. Can anyone put me in touch with Bill Jones? I messaged him a week or so ago and have not heard from him.

That was a message I missed. Someone asked to review some Bust coinage, but I thought that their table number was in the 300s.

But..but...NJCoin had this to say a little over a week ago in regard to the Mint being open for business today:

The Mint isn't going to have a choice. It's a federal agency and a national Day of Mourning. They are not going to poop all over that in order to sell a few coins at a trade show. No how, no way.

    And also this:

I PROMISE you that is not going to happen on Thursday at 12:00 noon.

He didn't just "promise" me, he "PROMISED" me. 😳
