Can you weigh it to two decimal points and supply a photo of the edge.
I am leaning towards it being counterfeit and those are plating bubbles on both sides
plus there is no detail on the reverse but need more info to say for sure.
My first impression was also that it is a counterfeit due to the lack of reverse detail.
Will wait for further info as @Greenstang has requested.

Kennedys are my quest...
Yet E PLURIBUS UNIM looks suspiciously strong and crisp.
Not sure if being a counterfeit.
Although the photo's just look to be a bit off.
But that's just me.
Weight 13.37 g. Which is less than 13.48 g.
Yes,no,maybe?
My guess is good but fire damaged.
Looks counterfeit to me. Details all wrong - stars, date, etc.

Late to the party but not seeing anything that screams counterfeit. Looks like it was heat damaged IMO.

It is certainly genuine! First impression was salt water damage, but that would not bubble the surface, only eat away and granulate the surface. I believe the initial impression of heat damage is accurate.
