The King of 2Feathers 23P Buffalo

I didn’t cherry-pick this amazing coin, it was traded for some great DDR Shields yet the King of 2Feathers is one and it is 1923P Buffalo

Super rare, it looks like the total POP is up to four now. In all my years of looking for buffalo varieties I've never even seen one come to market.

Great coin, I assume you will get it graded by our host?

Thank you, yes it is one or these coins where finding G3 is a success not to mention this condition.
With this one I am not sure if I am going to keep it or sell to buy other buffaloes I need for my main set. Tough decision to make really.

Is there a guide to these somewhere? I notice that some of them, for instance this 1923, show a partial feather and are still called a two feather, whereas some are disqualified by this. I would be interested to know which ones have to have a completely missing feather.

Every time I submit one with any trace I get shot down! Especially in the last couple years. It was not like this in the early days of PCGS attributing the two feather varieties. You need only look at CoinFacts pics. Some dates graded were definitely 2 1/2 feather examples. A good example is the 27-D’s. I found the most abraded one I have ever seen and they refused to call it 2 Feather. It was clearly better than any one they had attributed. They are very stingy in my recent submissions!

I agree and I am hoping they won’t be playing with this one. Yet they turned down my 16P FS-401 as they said they see F in there.. well they didn look at what coins they have on Coinfacts..
