Latin America appears to be very popular lately - not an area of collecting that I am familiar with.

Judging by recent auction results, pre-Meiji Japanese gold is very strong.
Spanish colonials, early Canadian, and Mexican silver seem to be the most popular world coins.
Latin America is tough to collect. quite scarce not enough nice coins available without hunting many years.
That’s exactly what makes it interesting to collect.
Latin American Collection
I understand your point but for us Latin American collectors each coin means something when they are rare. The time we spend searching for them can be like you say years with certain coins but when it pays off it feels that more special to own such rare coins.
It is not for everybody you have to enjoy the hunt a lot as well as the learning curve but it sure is fun once you get into it!!! And you have to accept you may never own some coins at all or in the grades you may want them in.

If you want something that is easy to collect try US Morgan Dollars. All it takes is money and you will have what you want when you want it.
I hear US coins are buoyant...
