Fantastic.
My only shield nickel.
Nice!
I bought this one years ago as a “nice AU” from a wholesale dealer, and submitted it this year:

My "With Rays type" is an MS-64. I bought this piece raw from the late Tom Lacey's bid wall. Tom had a store in Foxboro, Massachusetts and later at Messenger Square Mall.
This is one is graded Proof-66.+ CAM.
Very nice! I'm very jealous of all the with rays shown, still need one for a type set.

This is the only one I have in my collection.

Now you need one like that but with rays. Love the coin 👍
Thank you. Here's the MS ones to go with the proofs. One of my favorite coin designs.
Not the best pictures but you get the idea.

The Proofs are nice to look at of course, but the MS examples are truly impressive for condition and scarcity. That 1880 is mind blowing!
I want to get a pair for a type set. Thinking about 1883 for the end and V nickel transition, which I think would be neat. The 1866 Rays would be the other end.

Very nice coins all.
@humanssuck, wow you have an incredibly impressive collection of shield nickels. It must have taken you quite some time to assemble it. Congrats!
Not mine, but just came across this slightly smaller token a couple days ago. 16 stars!

@winesteven, thanks so much Steve. You are correct in that I am now expanding my collecting interests into new areas that I once only had little or no interest in. It’s a big collecting world and I’m taking small steps. I’ll make mistakes along the way, but it’s the “fun of the find”, that makes it all worth it for me. And by the way, your Shields are absolutely beautiful!
