Strange coin find

Checked the coinstar kiosk in the market. Found two coins. A Canadian Quarter and a Mexican 50 centavos coin. Except the latter was the size of a half dollar and appeared to be silver. The current Mexican 50 centavos coin is worth 2 1/2 cents and aluminum, and is smaller than the US cent.

Flipped it over. Dated 1921 and looks AU, as it as plenty of mint luster. It's not a scarce date, but go figure how it got here in this condition.

oddities are out there

i found a roman coin on the floor near the coin counter in a bank

another was a trip to a bank on a half run. coins were pulled from the tray and read aloud. i glanced at them. all 50 centavos from some south american country. I passed
