1957 steel cent?

I have this cent that might be steel or maybe it's just coated. The magnet does pick it up but there's no way a planchet from 1943 got stuck in the system for 14 years. Possible reasons why this cent exist?

It is most likely plated and not a steel cent. Also, without a photo there is no real way anyone can specifically answer your question. I know you are new and welcome aboard but try to post a picture. You will get a better answer this way.

Weigh it to two decimal points, that will tell you if it is copper or steel.

As stated above, we need pictures to aid us in your request.
