I started back in 2019. Here are a few that come to mind (there tons more):

Chile 4 reales 1760
Mexico error 1287 8 reales
Peru 1751 1/2, 1 and 2 reales (all unique)
Peru 1752 2 reales

One I had yet to see but one sold not long ago on eBay was the 1732 milled Mexico 2 reales. I have now seen all 1732's milled Mexican coins over the last 5 years.

The 1751 Peru 2R is not confirmed.

I own the 1752 Peru 2R NGC XF-40, bought it from Numisor. I've seen this coin sell roughly half a dozen times, which is why I think the recorded mintage of 208 is too low. This includes an AU (better than mine) and AU-UNC but corroded by Sedwick. The AU sold in 2009 before I knew about this firm and sold cheap. I passed on the other coin.

There are plenty of coins I have never seen for sale, because I'm not looking.

From pillars, I haven't seen the Chile 1R or 4R. Maybe some Guatemala but I can't remember because I don't actively buy it. From Peru, only the two 1751s per your post, 1766 1/2R, and 1752 4R assuming it actually exists. (It's not confirmed either.) I think I've seen every other Peru coin but many only in very low quality or damaged.

For my Bolivia Republic decimal side collection, never seen the 1882, 1887, or 1889 50C. Also the 1887 Boliviano. ANS MANTIS lists both 1887s (ex-Norweb) but I'm not sure the other two exist or ever did.

From South Africa Union, I've never seen 1933 or 1934 circulation strike farthings. NGC has graded one 1934, assuming it's actually not a mechanical error. 1933 is unconfirmed to my knowledge.

I have never seen a 1 escudo from Argentina.

    I haven’t seen an 1839 Arequipa Sunface though I’ve seen a few 1838’s. I’ve seen a few rare Pasco’s and even the 1841 Arequipa Standing Lib 8.

Not just a single coin in particular.

Some time ago in 2023, I went for a third time to a coin show across the border, and there was a guy on a table that had only currency from Mexico for sale and for display or exhibition a bunch of albums with all kinds of coins from his collection of Mexico.

A lot of those coins were Reales, starting with the Pillar type, 8R, 4R, 2R, 1R & 1/2R also Bust type, V - VI - III - IV - All in great condition, sharp, maybe a little bit in the VF if any.

He had and was the first time I saw one in hand the 8R Morelos Oaxaca in silver, also the Parral Peso, and many others.

I have went to some others shows there but he is not been there anymore.

  • I started collecting in 2020. I think since I started I have seen pretty much least one of every Mexican War of Independence type eventually cross the block somewhere, except maybe a Provisional de Valladolid or Zongolica, or some of the rarer counterstamps. Whether I had awareness/funds enough to bid or recognize an opportunity at the time (like the Plus Ultra sale)... that's a different story!

There are millions of Mexican coins that have never seen, but will stick with Iturbide 2 reales bust coin minted in Tegucigalpa, 1823.

  • @Abuelo - I remember you posting your amazing coin a while back! I added that one to my list, hopefully I'll have a chance to acquire one in the future.
