Results of my first Beckett sub - 7 Oversized cards

Looks like Beckett doesn't scan the cards after grading, so sorry for my crappy pics.
I felt the grades were accurate with only slight surprises and disappointments.
Finding and keeping 8-1/2"x11" cards in high grade is especially tough.
I opted for subgrades. More info is always better and it helped me compare to my own pre-grading.
The only disappointment was they holdered the cards in bulky magazine/comic holders measuring nearly 5/8" thick !
Cards are first placed in a plastic sleeve then kinda floating in the well. I anticipated a little more elegant approach.
In no particular order.....

First is 1992 Classic 8-1/2"x11" Blowup of Shaq's RC Limited to 7500.
There was a little something on the surface and sure enough it got a grade knock.
Otherwise pretty sharp.
Next is 1993 Upper Deck Authenticated 8-1/2"x11" Blowup of Ryno serial #'d to /1000.
Hard to complain about getting a Mint 9, but I thought this card had the best shot of my sub of getting a Gem Mint.
Next is a 1994 Classic 8-1/2"x11" blowup card of Troy Aikman. Not sure of the print run.
Surface got a slight knock. There's just so much surface on cards this size. LOL
Another Troy. 1993 UDA 8-1/2"x 11" blowup card Troy Aikman serial #'d to /1000
GEM MINT BGS 9.5! On a card this size!
And to wrap it up, the final (3) are 1998-99 UD Choice 5"x7" Jumbo Gretzkys, all pulled by me some 25 years ago.
I broke the cardinal rule of sending multiples of the same card, as graders tend to not give multiple gem grades.
I felt they were 9s with 2 shots at a 10. Ended up getting an 8.5, 9, and 9.5 (although I felt the 9 was better than the 9.5)
Overall pretty happy with Beckett.
They kept me informed of each step along the way.
Shows I'm not completely crazy with my pre-grade expectations as they all were within 1 or 1/2 grade of what I was thinking.
No head scratching 4 or 5 grade discrepancies that can happen with PSA sometimes.
The pricing for Oversized cards was a little more reasonable and the sub-grades are nice.
The holder for the 8-1/2"x11" cards are pretty bulky and clumsy.
Disappointed they didn't scan the cards after grading
They are slow to update their pop report. (some are still not updated)
Nice cards. Their ticket business has exploded.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
Ignore list -Basebal21
Thanks!
I was kinda expecting a few more comments on the holders, grades, cards,.....something.
Oh well, I like 'em.
I had zero interest in tickets until I saw posts here. (I think from you)
I admit I've started looking at tickets now, even though I can't afford to branch out into another hobby. LOL
You’ve got good taste and those cards look great.
How’s the turn times at Beckett these days?
Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?

Thanks!
I was updating progress in another thread but here is the summary:
Received Date: 07/07/2024

Job ID: 08/01/2024
Completed verification stage/entered grading queue: 9/4/2024
Grades popped! 9/18/24
I thought they were pretty sweet but didn't know what to say other than "pretty sweet". I don't like Beckett slabs ;/ It's nice that the centering is great on all of them because with jumbos that can make a huge difference.
Me neither, as it turned out. LOL
I don't think I'll be sending in any more 8-1/2"x11" cards to Beckett.
The 5"x7" card holder is not nearly as bulky.
I had several examples of each oversized card plus some others.
These were cherry picked for high grades and it feels pretty good to know the grades matched expectations.
Sadly, that can't always be said with PSA.
