I figure it still has 8 bucks worth of silver in it.
Neat coin. I remember being on the hunt for a true Lowball 1885-CC and finding them as rare as hens teeth in problem free, worn out condition.

Congrats, I got blown away on the two I was after. This time, the coin sold for 20% MORE than it sold for in 2022 😤.

I went 1 for 11 on Dollars tonight.
Maybe GC should have a proxy feature.
Of maybe you should bid your true max?
If I did I would have gone 0 for 11,
Here we go again.
And I thought the big spenders were gone (i like the coin)
Granny worked retail and had about 60 Morgan Dollars that she put away. Looked like a windfall to me in the 1960's. Never saw an uncirculated Morgan until I bought one on Ebay for $44 in 2003.
Have always had an appreciation for the well circulated coins, as they have many more stories to tell than the pampered,, vault sealed gems.
Having said that, I once owned an 85-O in an NGC MS68 holder. There is an old, old thread about the purchase which is better kept archived. Think I like this coin better!

Or maybe I should have said, "Dad?"

Nice pickup.
I am looking for a low grade Kennedy.
Paying crazy money does not work for me.
I think you got a great purchase price.

Kennedys are my quest...
No, no, no,! Regular bidding is for your false max, proxy bidding is for your true max.

You outbid me.
Congrats!

Well, his love-affair with this Morgan didn't last long. . . it is now listed on eBay.

Doug Davis of NCIC sent out a broadcast of a bunch of Poor1 graded coins that got pilfered in transit recently, I guess there is a market for these lowball coins.
The only one I could find on eBay has a different cert number.

That'd be it!

Yeah, but because CAC uses a different grading scale, FR2 might be PCGS AG3.
Geez...my price is too low.
I'd think asking 4X's your cost- within a couple of weeks isn't too shabby.

Is there a premium for the PO1 & FR2 coins. I have a few PO1s and 1 FR2. Just wondering.

Yes there are premiums, especially for PO1s if it’s PCGS/NGC.
Thanks. I just like them. Especially the real old dates
I have not thought about trying to.sell them
Probably keep.them a few more years
Thanks
