Looking for opinions to see if these might be worth submitting for upgrades and/or CAC.
Hint: Both are MS, NOT Details coins.
Note that the 80-D is kind of a tough find in higher grades. This is a recent pickup that arrived today, purchased in an auction with poor photos.

My guess is they’re both 66 and while I don’t know enough about the peace dollar series, I can tell you that Kennedy should be in a 67 holder if it’s not already.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

I see a 65 on the Peace dollar no problem.
I don't know much about the 1980 buy aren't they common?

The peace dollar is just as nice as the horrific ms67 examples we had threads on recently, so if PCGS is still grading them wrong, it belongs in one of their ms67 holders.

    Any other tpg holder: ms65

The Kennedy is a nice 66

I don't see a reveal yet, so here's my guess:
    Peace 65
    Kennedy 67

    ---REVEAL

    WE have a winner!
So for the Peace I bought a "pile" of NGC MS65 Peace dollars and this one stood out to me as being above average, possibly a 66. Was thinking about sending it to CAC and hoping for a Gold sticker but based on responses I'm guessing maybe just a green bean. I don't like toning but on this one it's not bad and the old fatty NGC holder is cool too.

The 80-D half also appeared to be exceptional for a 67. It's also in an older holder. If you look in CF, most of the 67's have a chewed up neck and this one is very clean. I think it's a candidate for 67+ or 68 which is huge given the pop report above (54 in 67, no +, 1 in 68).

I sold a PCGS MS67 1980-P that would have been a perfectly matching pair for your "D" mint.
I wish you would have seen it! (Sold for way too cheap.)

You had asked if these should be resubmitted for upgrades, and after seeing the grades the answer is no.

    Your MS67 is a beauty.
The best that I can do is a MS66.

Agree, the Denver mint is tougher for this year And 66 is the best I’ve done so far. But here is a Philly in 67.

Edit: my pics look way better as does the in hand appearance, I’ll post later.

It's a fine line (or rim ding) between 66 and 67. Here is the MS67 from above (shown below).

    Then a pair of 66s.

A decent ding in the shield will pretty much rule out a 67.

That last one has the best appeal but I think the reverse rim ding is the problem.

obverse looks 68 all day long.
