PCGS Price Guide

Does anybody know why there is no listing for the 2013-S and 2017-S Limited Edition Silver Sets in the PCGS Price guide?

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    Eight coins per set.

I took a QUICK look, and was able to locate a couple of coins from each set in the PG.

    Examples:
    ~ 526467
    ~ 653679
    ~ 526480
    ~ 653674

Which specific coins are you looking for?

    I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I know how to search for the individual coins in the PG, but not these specific sets as a composite. In fact, I could not even locate a PCGS coin # for the subject sets.

Hopefully, someone else that is more knowledgable about these sets will post, and provide an answer. :)

I think the reason is that PCGS doesn't assign grades to the entire sets and they typically only track items they authenticate and grade. Makes sense as their primary business is grading, not pricing. We provide wholesale and retail pricing for these proof sets (and 200,000+ more items) but it is a subscription-based service.

Caution! I don't know anything about the proof sets, so I am just throwing out what I found. :*

The proof sets show up on the price guide as 19Lyds implied in OP. They don't show up on coinfacts laptop but do show up on coinfacts App but only as a price guide. When I copy and paste the coin # from the price guide into coinfacts it is not found (on two that I checked).

Here is the price guide link and it appears to stop at 2020. This is page 2 of 2 and earlier dates are there on page 1.

    https://www.pcgs.com/prices/detail/proof-sets/932/most-active/pr?pn=2

On the link above some of the 2016 are out of order and 3 of them including the limited edtion show up around the 2013 date. It appears some were added later as the coin # jump and are noticeably different. The coin # are not active / linked (and goes along with the coinfacts # search noted above). The price is active / linked but yearly range on the price history was limited back to 2020 (only checked two dates). With this and that the sets appear to stop at 2020, I wonder if this is when the data was added.

The 2015 Limited don't show up possibly because they were canceled according to this. Oh and the Limited edition has a silver eagle I guess from looking at this stuff.

This link does not show the 2015 either but does have 2013 and 2017 Limited edition noted in the OP. I have no clue how good the price data is.

As far as the OP question goes - I don't know why the 2013 and 2017 Limited are not there in the pcgs price guide but perhaps just missed initially. Possibly could ask pcgs and.......?

If no one here knows, I agree that contacting PCGS would be the best 'next step'.

My GUESS - PCGS only assigns a set # if someone submits a 'complete/sealed' set, and PCGS obliges their request to encapsulate the set in a multi-coin holder (with a single cert number).

    Example:
2016-S Proof Set Limited Edition 8 pc
    Mint Description
    PCGS #653989
