PSA won’t make a label correction- Update PSA was nice to me with a 10

Hi there, wondering if anyone has been through a similar situation.

I submitted a 2003 topps Vintage Embossed buyback card (67 mays McCovey is the card). Topps stamped it to show its a buyback.

PSA says it’s just a regular 67 topps wirh surface damage.. I submitted a correction and they denied it and now card is in assembly.

Not sure how to get them to label and grade it correctly. Tried calling, CS said they couldn’t help me. So I’m not sure, any suggestions out there?

Gayle Kean might be able to help, or Cosetta Robbins. Not sure on spelling. Not sure they still work there, but they actually listened.

shame them on social media. don't forget to mention how you tried to help them mitigate a mistake, but they're too stupid to accept the help. businesses which don't get customer service right need to be dragged endlessly to their lesson.

What if my item is returned and I believe it is mislabeled?

PSA will correct any mislabeled item(s) free of charge. If you believe your item is mislabeled, please submit a Label Correction Request via the Customer Request Center. You can do so by logging into your account and clicking on Customer Request Center. You will need to provide front and back photos of your item. This will be sent directly to the research team and they will verify whether the item is mislabeled. If they confirm, they will provide instructions on how to send the item back for correction at no cost.

As part of these instructions, we will email you a pre-paid FedEx shipping label to spare you the additional cost of mailing your item(s) back, but please note that you may only include the mislabeled item(s) in this package. The label will expire within 30 days of issuance. If it is determined that the item(s) have no errors, then you will be responsible for the full return shipping fee.

If your order is still in process with PSA, you will receive an email to “Review Your Order” once it finishes Research and ID. This will allow you to report any errors for correction before the order is completed.

This is infuriating and I've been down this road many times. Hopefully one of the contact names provided in this thread will get you help.

I had a card from a base Topps set that is listed as an uncorrected error (wrong photo) but my card was the corrected version. PSA insisted it was part of a parallel set with the stamp missing! I argued up the chain via email for months, provided every bit of info imaginable but still it ended up being sent back to me ungraded, labelled factory misprint. I resubbed it (wihtout noting the variation) and they graded it. Frustrating to say the least.

See above. I could not find the direct link to the CRC page or I’d have included it but there is (or was) a separate tool wherein you’d get pre approval to send it in for correction at no charge.

I'm curious - have they graded similar buybacks like this previously and labeled them appropriately?

I purchased a vintage cello pack at auction awhile ago that was already graded, but the pack was loaded where the back of the cards in the pack was facing the front of the slab. Hard to explain, but Topps loaded these cellos backwards, i.e. what's normally the front of the cello had the back of the card and what's normally the back of the cello had the top of the card facing out. I requested a reholder and provided them examples of cellos graded previously that were holdered the "right way" and they agreed to reholder. I'm thinking if you were to do something similar and provide photo evidence of them labeling similar buybacks appropriately, they might agree to do this.

If you exhausted the options to contact them w/ no answer, BBB complaint ... and if they don't listen still, do a chargeback.

What a hit! What does that card go for in PSA 10?

The floor is probably $1K but I've seen sales around $2k in the past couple years. I think these are going to pop; especially with auto when he's inducted in 2025.

The Pujols, Ichiro and the AL/NL ROY featuring both from this issue are awesome together. I wish they could have both been inducted in the same year too.

In similar overlap with PSA labels and Ichiro I saw this interesting offering consigned to eBay via the PSA vault. I would have thought getting the listings right would be easy for them.
