Just a few weeks until this show and I am very excited about it, given it's right in my backyard here in downtown Tampa. I'm planning to attend all four days to get my coin fix after a summer collecting hiatus due to international travel.
Who here will be going to the show? It'd be great to get a couple of collectors lunches and dealer dinners happening.
Here's the official show link: https://www.gacc.show

We're attending, and we're displaying the Eliasberg 1913 Nickel at our table.

I was looking to setup a table there, but then I saw this on the dealer application when asking for names for badges:
“ Legitimate W-2 Employee Assistants or spouses ONLY (Absolutely No Exceptions).”
I am a new dealer and don’t have any employees. I don’t want to have to man the table myself so was going to invite a friend along to help. But since that’s not possible I’ll have to hold off for now.
And a 1943 1C in copper? Look forward to stopping @ your table; may have a consignment too.

Appreciate it, shot you a message.
You two gonna get married real quick? Spouses only eh?

Similar to the Nashville show NO mention of dealers attending. You would think that would be a priority since they are your customer and are promoting it as a high class show. one would be posted by now?
I will be interested to hear how this show turns out. Looking forward to a @PeakRarities show report.

The preliminary dealer list is online: https://www.gacc.show/bourse.html
Greg kindly reached out and Larry responded really quickly to my email concerning the requirements for show assistants.
So it seems I will have a table there after all!
Major props to the team behind the show for being proactive and accommodating! Really looking forward to being there.
Additional show details and updates will be on the show website in the coming days.
There are several aspects of the show that are different from any show you’ve ever been to. In addition to providing opportunities for the largest to smallest dealer to have a table, and hence provide collectors and public a wide selection of buying and selling opportunities, the show will also feature a large number of educational exhibits .
To make it easier to view and enjoy these exhibits , they will be spread throughout the bourse floor. And so you don’t miss anything, all attendees will receive a listing of the exhibits and their respective locations.
Here is a press release with a few more details on what is called the “Numismatic Educational Journey.”

Yes - 1943 Bronze Cent as well, and we're actually going to be auctioning it now.

Just 10 days until the start of the inaugural Tampa show. I thought it’d be nice to get some forumites together, so I arranged a couple of times during the week where a few of us can get together for some coin talk over a meal.
Shoot me a PM if you’d be interested in attending either:
Tues 9/10—“Dealer Dinner”, 6-8 people
6:30pm after dealer day; day prior to show open
The Pearl Restaurant, short walk from conv. center
Fri 9/13—“Collector Lunch”, 6-8 people
12:30pm on what I expect will be busiest public day
Harpoon Harry’s, located on-site at conv. center
Note these aren’t strict dealer/collector requirements, anyone is welcome to join either. And if anyone is down on Friday evening, some tavern/bar hopping around Tampa may be in the cards.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
I will be attending it, but I have concerns about how successful it will be. Between the high admission fees and the parking, you’ll have close to $50 invested in the show before you have bought your first item.
Bill, from what I gather the show is going to be VERY well attended. Time will tell, but I'm optimistic.

A great many collectors I know are cheap beyond cheap. They’ll spend big bucks on a coin, but resent show admission fees. This one is $10 a day or $25 for the duration if you preregister. It’s $15 at the door. I’ve never been to a coin that was that high. When you are trying to get a new show started, I question the strategy.
That's understandable, but in their defense, they have facilitated the display of some attractions that are well worth the price of admission. Tampa is an expensive city, and I'm sure that organizing something like this comes with a hefty price tag. The fact that there's going to be tens of millions of dollars worth of some of the finest known rarities takes the sting out of the admission charge, in my opinion. In today's world, $15 is no more than a sandwich and a soda, and if that's the cost for someone to put together a show like this that might help invigorate the hobby, I can't take issue with that. If it backfires, and the public don't attend, then I would concede that the strategy doesn't work, but let's wait and see what happens first.

I probably won't be able to attend, but $15 certainly seems reasonable to me. If I am reading their site correctly, Saturday is free admission if someone wants to just do one day.
https://www.gacc.show/schedule.html#fees
I mainly collect Indian cents , with all the cost of attending a show the entry fee is what will keep me from going as I believe the free Saturday will be too crowded. Maybe pcgs will send a free entry to registry members . Happy hunting to those that do go , should be some nice coins there.
Plus many of the dealers would have already left.
How is the parking, I assume it to be congested, and what price are the parking tickets?

I’ll be flying to Tampa from Hollywood, FL…..renting a car for the day, and flying back home in the evening. My cost for spending 8-9 hours on the road round trip , gas, tolls, etc. was offset by what I will have by flying there from Ft. Lauderdale. $110 round trip airfare, $28 for car rental, $10 admission fee….and parking. So looking at attending a great show for approximately $150 for the day….or approximately $13 an hour for my day of fun. I think that is well worth it! Hopefully able to unload a bunch of slabbed ASE’s and get some nice coins in trade. 😉
I am not the target audience for this show. The price of admission and parking is enough to keep me away. I take a few hundred dollars that I usually don’t spend. Not worth to travel a couple hours, pay for admission, look around for a little bit, and leave empty handed. I can spend the money online and my time at the gym

In addition, noted numismatic authority and Redbook editor Jeff Garrett will offer free appraisals on the show floor in the stage area, on Thursday afternoon. The first fifty people in line will receive a free Red Book autographed by Jeff.
Your link says the show opens to the public at 11am on Wednesday. Don’t be late
The trouble with "free Saturday" is that a lot of dealers, especially the big ones will have left or will be in the process of leaving. That's the problem with going to a big show on the last day.
I must say though, that the last day of Summer FUN was pretty full although some of the heavy hitters had gone home.
Just registered, Early Access. Will be there Tuesday through Thursday. See you there!
