I had received many FedEx delivery from SB at home. FedEx never ask for ID, only ask to sign. They used to drop it if no one home but don't do that anymore.
Depends on how it's sent by the shipper. Adult Signature Required requires a photo ID.
If the driver is waiving that, they are doing that their own peril, since, if you file a claim, they will be SOL without an image of your ID. In fact, I'm not even sure the handheld will allow the driver to complete the delivery without capturing that ID.
Tell the FedEx driver that you don’t have a license because you were just released from prison after serving a 10 year sentence for two counts of attempted murder. Then offer that if he’ll give you a few minutes, you’ll be happy to look for your prison ID and that you prefer he waits inside, but please shut the door so the air conditioning doesn’t get out. Pretty sure the driver will find a work around.
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
We live, relatively, in the boonies. It's easier for the driver to not bother finding us than it is to drive to our house, when they may not have another delivery within a couple of miles. Since it happens repeatedly, and I always register a complaint, I have to conclude that FedEx doesn't care, so I try very hard to use UPS.
Could you maybe use one of their alternative drop off sites, where they keep your package safe until you pick it up, and it’s also more accessible and navigable to the driver, and yet still not too far for you? We had to do that a few years back cuz of situations just like you’re describing.

I might let the driver look at my license to verify my ID, but no way in hell is he taking a photograph of it. I don't know who has access to the photo or how it's stored.

Yes, and we do that when we can. But it a "workaround," not a solution, for the terrible service FedEx provides to us. So I always try to use UPS.

Would not bother me. My Personal data including ss # are already on the dark web. I daresay everyone's is as well.
No.
I dont see how this would be possible in the first place. A shipper can't request that.
I have everything sent to a hold station. They know me and ID never needed but I am sure it was needed at the very beginning.
