Anyone at the ANA have any info?
In some past years PCGS had a room reserved for some of these award type events, or did that all end when plaques were done away with, etc.

I thought they were being announced at an invitation only event between 8am and 10am on 9 August at ANA.
Currently looking for Proof Half Sovereigns…….
Hopefully if, or once, they are announced at the ANA this morning, they will post them here or on the PCGS website.

They only announced three.
That was a great ANA show report you posted. Congratulations on 54 years of attendance! That should be an award all by itself. Amazing.

What three?
They ran through them very quick. One was for some Australian set. They just put pictures up on a screen. No one was called to accept anything.
Hey PCGS...... What's Up? You announced winners on Friday and nothing on the site? The real world is the internet these days!
Were these actual SET awards? Or:
https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1106261/2024-pcgs-set-registry-breakfast-at-ana
It has been 6 weeks since the sets were held for registry award reviews.
It has also been a very long time since any new US coin sets have been approved.
I sure wish there was more communication about the PCGS registry on these forums by our hosts.

FYI The 2023 banners were not posted to registry sets until around the 22nd of November.
I expect the 2024 banners will not be listed to individual sets until much latter this year.
I also feel that because so many of registry owners have not yet received their "award pins" or the paper certificates, that the 2024 physical "awards" will be non existent and discountinued.
We shall see.

My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Last year, it was the end of August when I got the "confidential" email notification that I had a gold coming (with a request for how I wanted my name listed) -- October 26 is when they actually finally announced it to the world. 2022, I got the notification on August 7th, and another set's on August 25th, with Sept 29th being their awards announcement luncheon. 2021 was emailed August 6th, I have no immediate record of when they were announced publicly. 2019 the winners were announced on August 28th. And PCGS is probably hoping we all forget about the utter disaster that 2020 was. (#NeverForget)
In terms of a trend, they're not too far off of their standard timeline, at least post-covid, so I guess I don't feel a need to be too critical just yet. But, that being said, I don't have a lot of confidence that we'll be hearing anything anytime soon, either.
Yes, they will probably sort it out at some point. I am also referring to other requests I have made that no longer even get answered. For example, look at my best set that I have a link to, in the bottom of all my posts. There are still a dozen pop 1 highest graded medals, with none higher, that have no deep gold bonus color.
I have patiently asked for this to be fixed probably eight times every other month or so for almost two years and they simply can't fix it. There are many others in the set that should have the light gold bonus for being the highest grade, but not the only medal ever graded that high.
Very few other sets have this many single highest top grades. It is frustrating to me as I have worked very hard on it and almost all are my own submissions. The digital album won't stay filled. I never received my pins from last year, etc.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Yeah, there's a lot of technical areas within the set registry that I've completely given up on expecting anything other than crickets at this point
That's a fantastic set - and for as much of a statement as that is by itself, you still somehow appear to almost have competition, too - it's close enough that every point absolutely counts. It looks like the PSC set has the same issues, for whatever that's worth (not that any of that actually excuses anything, of course...) but yeah, if it's close enough to cause potential rankings changes, they absolutely should be paying attention.
Thanks.
PSC has a outstanding collection, and he also has missing bonus medal recognition. Yes, the problem is with the makeup of the registry set itself, not just mine.
What is strange is I have not found any other registry set with this problem. This is why it seems like it should be something that could be fixed, if there was any IT effort put into it. I have even suggested deleting it and starting over with a new one that works, but crickets are all that I hear.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
My gut says if they deleted it, they wouldn't bother bringing it back. Hopefully they don't go that route. Getting any new set approved these days is worse than pulling teeth. I've been trying to get 'em to migrate my Kookaburra showcase into a set for years now. Crickets. Even after sending them a link to the very-active NGC set that my showcase is modelled after
You'd think with all the money they're saving by stiffing us on awards and plaques, they could probably hire a few more people....
Have you been in contact with PSC? It might be worth having you both go through your sets and add up all the missing points to see just how close, or far apart you truly are, and potentially get BOTH of you to start being their squeaky wheel... It does seem like they're very willing to be helpful, if you catch 'em on just the right day, and just the right time... Problem is, nobody knows when that actually happens to be
Yes, we have been in touch. I have even sold PSC medals that upgraded his set. It is not so much a competition to me, but a passion for saving and documenting these rare medals that are from the US Mint. Very few collectors are even aware of these as they are very scarce and were not sold at the Mint, but only at the locations around the country that were commemorated. This is not like most sets where you can almost buy whatever you want if you have the money. You have to hunt for most of these raw and send in several over many years to get these higher grades.
The problem is that our registry requests seem to end up lower priority than other issues. CLCT puts more effort into other parts of their business now and PCGS seems to be on the low end of the totem pole. I worry at some point they might drop it all together. With CACG getting more attention, if PCGS wants to succeed I think there needs to be some additional management commitment to maintaining and improving the registry or it might fade away, which none of us want.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Agreed -- I've dumped a lot of time and money into putting all my Aussie stuff into PCGS slabs -- heartbreaking to see 'em circling the drain.
The registry was somebodies brainchild to spur sales. it's a promotion expense, they won't put any more time and money into it than is absolutely necessary to keep people sending in coins that would be virtually worthless but for the registry. That said of the three active coin registries I like the PCGS format the best and it would be a shame to see it abandoned.
and it's worked -- I'm easily well into the hundreds range, for coins I've submitted specifically to create or complete my registry sets - and recently, since their services have gotten so impossibly slow, I've resorted to nothing but Express -- that's a pretty effective marketing push. Perhaps it's something akin to the shipping companies intentionally dragging down their lower cost services to ransom users into their higher cost options (First Class is Worst Class...) They can pay people to spam their social media pages and email lists, shouldn't be too much to ask to actually put some energy into the marketing division that actually DOES provide a return on their investment. For that matter, there's probably no reason that a lot of it couldn't be crowdsourced. Let the users do some of the heavy lifting. Don't really see why users couldn't put together a new set and publish directly themselves, and free up a LOT of time for their employees to work on more pressing concerns...
(my rant for the day LOL)
Like TRUEVIEWS?!!!
My question is will 2023 Awards ever be sent? I STILL have not received my 2023 awards.
I have received nothing either and there is no communication. So different now than things were several years ago.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
I just received my two Platinum Registry 2024 awards for my complete modern gold and silver sets and a Gold award for my complete modern proof set gold, silver, platinum, and palladium by mail in the form of certificates. No additional accompanying info.
I have 256 coins from my complete gold eagle set now at Great Collections for sale, so that is the end of two of these awards.
I am keeping the complete silver set for now.
Good luck to all.

Is that for 2024 or 2023?

Update,,,,, still nothing,,,,,,, so sad and frustrating,,,,,,,,,
2024 This is it, but I removed my name from it. I did not ever get 2023 award pin or certificate.

I can only hope that my paper “Best of Registry” 2023 certificates show up someday.
Not holding my breath.
@Goldminers nice award. Well deserved.
Hopefully the other 2024 awards for the other winners will be announced soon and maybe shipped out.

Kennedys are my quest...
I received my 2024 Gold Award certificate today.
I also received 2024 Gold Award certificates today. 2023 certificates and pins never received.
Got a couple here, too. I suspect it's safe to assume the pins are a thing of the past now, too. Although for 6 years of awards, and requesting paper certificates to put in the albums, I'll take some comfort in them finally sending THOSE out at least (even though there's still nothing for best-of-registry sets...)
Are the BOR’s certificates for 2023 that you received?
Wayne
Kennedys are my quest...
The only Best of Registry physical item I've ever seen was the pins from 2022 and 2023. Although I'd previously requested paper certificates for all of them, at least for a few years, before giving up. The certificates I received today were for 2024, Golds for my big Koala set and for one of my Ike Dollar sets (one that really has no reason to get a gold -- I mean, I'll take it, but... I've got MUCH more impressive sets than that one [shrug]) -- No clue if they're planning on making any kind of announcements for the awards, or if or when they'll get around to updating the icons on all the sets, but I guess, at least somebody's apparently doing something over there, at least...
I got three gold certs in the mail. One of my sets got its sixth consecutive gold award. Isn't the sixth gold award supposed to be platinum?
http://www.victoriancent.com
Their web site says 5. https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/awards. I have 5 now but it is 5 out of the last 6 with one year in the middle omitted
You get 5 consecutive gold then platinum. This is the gold set I had and just retired. After 10 years with award you get the 10-year icon.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Let me guess... 2020?
Sorry I have 5 out of 7. Missing 20 and21.
I've seen a few similar cases, but these two will disappoint me for a long time. For my Koala's 2020 year, I'd added a handful of new slots to the set and updated a few coins at the same time. For the 2021, I think all I did was add the new year's offering, and left most of the set untouched otherwise (I got the 2024 Gold in the mail this week). For the Kookaburras, I'm pretty sure Ridgeline's been full 70s since I started my sets, so 2020, literally all he could do was add the new year... But that wasn't good enough for 2020. I've got room to upgrade one coin, one point to tie him. I know if I DO find that coin, and post it, he'll never get a gold again - I'm not trying very hard to find that coin. And if I do, I probably won't add it. To do so would be robbing him of his Platinum badge, that I know full well he's already earned. [sigh]
My Canada large cent with varieties set has gold from 2019 through 2023. I just got a gold certificate in the mail for 2024, but I think it should be platinum. I will wait and see what color button they put on it, when they post them.
http://www.victoriancent.com
I agree -- that sure looks like it should be a platinum, and 2023 should have been a platinum as well. Looking at other sets in the registry, I see nothing that resembles consistency... I see some that show both gold and platinum icons for the same year, and others that don't. I saw one that showed gold 4 years in a row, someone else's set getting gold the 5th year, and then the 1st one getting platinum on the 6th. Rules say Platinum no longer competes for Gold, so I'm just going to conclude it's just broken, like so much of the rest of the registry...
Call and talk to Emilio. Emails do not work or solve these issues. Keep dialing until he answers. Use the 1-877-1318 number. It is worth the effort to talk out the issues with a human.
Best of luck.
Wayne
Kennedys are my quest...
The 2023 should not be platinum. I have not seen any past problems like you mentioned, but of course it is possible.
You should not get platinum in the 5th year, you get it after 5 consecutive gold, in the 6th year.
I have examples of these in more sets I retired, and all have been consistent.
UNTIL this year as documented above, unless of course the 2024 banner is platinum like it should be.

Thanks. I will wait to see which banner they post and go from there. No sense in overreacting now.

News Alert
I just received a Gold Registry Set Award certificate for 2024 for my Everyman Mint State 20TH Century Type Set Major Types No Gold 1900-1999
Now here's the thing:
I did win this award in 2023 and received a pin, BUT, I fell to 2nd place when the deadline hit. I was NOT in 1st place! I was in 2nd place.
I believe that that this was supposed to be for 2023 and they put 2024 on the certificate.
I only received 1 certificate when I actually won 4 registry sets.
AND
I also received an award for a Michael Baber for the Everyman barber Dimes Set
WHAT????
I checked to see if there was a person with that set and found nothing in the registry sets under that name as I wanted to to able to contact him and forward the certificate.
So, what I believe is that they sent these certificates out with the wrong date on them so anyone receiving these are really for 2023 and not 2024.
I am eligible for 4 sets for 2024, lets see what happens

I am going to call pcgs today and ask for a printed award. See how that goes.
The substantial truth doctrine is an important defense in defamation law that allows individuals to avoid liability if the gist of their statement was true.
They’ve been clear with me that they are only printing certificates for gold and above awards. The BoR awards are no longer being printed and posted. If you have gold or above then hopefully they will send you the paper certificate.
As for the banners, this is what they said on 4 November: “Banners were submitted to the appropriate department a few weeks ago and should be updated online soon.“ A month later and still nothing. It’s getting later and later each year. They really don’t care. It’s so obvious….
