Hi, anyone else a member on Cointalk.com as well? It's been down for a few days for me, wondering what's going on.
Thanks,
sdw

I haven't been able to get on for a couple days either.
Down for me too.
Ask @lordmarcovan
Some discussion about it here too: https://www.numisforums.com/topic/7037-is-cointalk-down/
still down
Yup. I'm not liking it either. I miss my coin friends there. I hope someone pays the darn rent!!
Any cointalk people out there?
I am, Sal, wonder what is goin on?
I heard though the grapevine that the site was hijacked. Not sure what is going to happen now.
Hijacked like ransom?
I am Sal. How’s the garden going? (Blackberrypie)

What grapevine is that, Sal?
Given my moderator status on CT, folks have understandably asked me about it, but regrettably, I have no useful information.
I do not know CT’s mostly-absentee site owner Peter T. Davis at all. I do know CT site admin Doug (GDJMSP) a little (met him on these boards in the early 2000s). But I have no contact with either Peter or Doug outside of the CoinTalk site.
So I’m as much in the dark as everyone else, but just as hopeful that the situation will be resolved.
Someone (I believe it was CT member Masterswimmer) told me that Peter’s antiques site was also down, so I guess it could be a server thing of some kind?
I have no special tech knowledge, either.

I'm there, just not real active in posting.
Thanks for linking that. So server problem, it's being fixed. Cool.
I'm Lon Chaney at CT by the way.
It's been more than a few days. I got back from vacation on Monday and went to check in with the crew.
Hopefully they fix it soon.
Welcome to the forum @PickinndGrinnin!
Oh LordM, All I want to say is it was another CT member. Don't want to be a "tattle tale".
Not sure if I am stepping out a bit, the shut down happened just after the shutdown of air flights, bank communication.
Major institutes relying on a platform. I find things a little suspicious.
LOL
Oh, let's just hope things get back to normal. I don't know about the rest of you, but I miss it over there so much it hurts. Miss the people and the fun that we had there.
We have it here right now brother, lets thank the community for having us. These are a couple decks that I built years ago. They are up for refinishing.
That upper deck has drainage.
Nice Pics and nice JOB!!
Yes, I'm very grateful to see that I can enjoy this hobby with good friends here there or anywhere.
@lordmarcovan @PickinndGrinnin @SensibleSal66 @ldhair CU approved me as a member about 90 min. ago, this is my 2nd post. I must thank Robertson ( aka lordmarcoven ) for his efforts to keep everyone informed.
Regarding the CT server issue, and not knowing anything about either the hardware or software or history of it being used, the general term used in networking and computers for what occurred is “catastrophic failure”. Modern networks and computer hardware are very sophisticated and well-designed which makes them very reliable. Same goes for software. But my 20 years of computer maintenance and 32 years of electronics maintenance points out one thing: eventually the hardware refuses to pass electrons. The hardware “quits”. If you’re lucky it’s a minor and easy fix. Or (the other side of the coin, if you take my meaning) it could be major and have huge ramifications.
Glad to be here, with all y’all. I look forward to seeing and working with everyone on both sites…imo…Spark
