I wonder what the reverses of the quarter and half dollar look like.

Fun to roll the dice on the half, but pictures of the reverses would help. Also, would expect that any cam would have been submitted. Originality is interesting, but the set doesn’t look particularly well cared-for, judging by the cent.

since they do not show it, aren't you convinced they are brilliant?

The absence of reverse photos leads me to believe the reverses are brilliant.

If the reverses of the coins look like the obverse then it would be brilliant to post photos of the frosted reverses. Posting photos of brilliant reverses would not be brilliant, it would be stupid :)

Anyone who bids above $300.00 for this set, thinking that the reverses of the quarter and half dollar look like the frosted obverse, is taking a gamble they most likely will lose.

I wonder what the winning bid will be.

Someone is going to end up disappointed.

Contrast is easy to manipulate even when you aren't trying, but the clarity of the fields on both the Half-Dollar and Quarter make them appear no-Cameo. One bonus might be the Superbird but with no reverse pictures that's also a reach. I know everyone likes "original" but I have always felt the worst thing to do with these early sets is to keep them in the stapled cello and box. Use a virgin Capital Plastic holder or archival flips and avoid any possible further degredation.

The half dollar and quarter have interesting obverses, but if the reverses are “normal” it’s all for not. One sided cameos have not brought premiums, but anything can change.

Most 1952 Proof sets I have seen were long on brightness, but short on sharpness. The lack of sharpness was the result of die polishing.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Brilliant or cameo? Anyone spending that amount is hoping for cameo.

Seems odd the GC did not do a reverse photo, that is unusual for them.
Just closed at that price. 526.05 + BP

I may be missing something but that price seems high and the coins aside from the half don't look that great either. I got a much nicer 52 proof set with OGP a couple of years ago for about $350. I'm assuming whoever bought it is betting on a CAM designation for the Franklin half?
