Wondering if top two silver eagles are real.

They test silver on my sigma and have the right mass. Rim seems high and sharp, "pling" sound rather dull. Considering that they may be silver but not authentic.

I'm no expert but if they are counterfeits, they are exceptional. The texture of the flag on the obverse (in front of the face of Liberty) is something I've never seen on a counterfeit.

Appear genuine to me with obvious condition problems.

If the dates weren't bogus on this one, what would you think?

    I would be bamboozled.

Are those counterfeits created from scratch or are they genuine ASEs that have had their dates modified?

They are from scratch and contain no silver.

  • Yours look real and altered, I’ve seen this done with the 1986 Liberty $1.

    Thanks everyone for your help!

From scratch, but dies might have been cast using a real ASE and then altered date. Surfaces are too dull and porous to be real coins with altered dates.
