Has PCGS stopped designating Red Book listed Double Die cents?

This question arose as I sent in a 1983 DD reverse Lincoln and it came back tagged as just a 1983. I called and the first rep said I didn't pay for attribution but the website said if it's listed in the Redbook, you didn't have to pay for attribution. I had a 1972 DD attributed without an issue. When I called back again, I was told it didn't meet the criteria for attribution and the graders decision was final. Attached is a photo which clearly shows it is a classic Double die.

Welcome to the forum!
You should not need to pay for the variety attribution for Redbook varieties.
Thanks for the reply. This is what the website indicates but customer service keeps shooting down my request saying if I want it attributed, I have to resubmit and pay with no guarantee it will happen. They have the attitude if it wasn't attributed, it's because it's not the variety I claim it is and that the grader's decision is final. I get the feeling they are not even viewing the image of my coin to see they made an error.
Let's try tagging @PCGS_SocialMedia and see if they can put you in touch with someone to correct the problem.
Check back here and watch for a personal message in your inbox.
You will need to pay to ship it back to them but they should correct the problem for no additional charge.
Thank you very much! Are you saying you are reaching out or should I?
By tagging them in this thread they should have received a notification.
If they don't contact you within a couple of days you can click on the blue username I posted and send them a message.
If you want more replies from other members here who may have had the same problem or to get a little more exposure, you could post this same thread of the main US Coin forum.
Thanks very much for your help!
Thank you for tagging, we were experiencing some issues with connectivity here yesterday. RVA please send us a DM so we can get your info and have someone reach out to your directly. Thank you.

What was the outcome @RVA?

Kennedys are my quest...
Nothing final yet. It's in the encapsulation phase.
Coin is finally back in my possession. Encapsulated as a 1983 reverse DD MS 67. Thanks very much to this forum and to the PCGS rep that reached out to me and took care of the issue. Though the customer service department which I first contaced was less than helpful (their response: the graders have made their decision and their decision is final), the PCGS rep that reached out to me was extremely helpful and was able to get the situation rectified. Thank you!
