Show some cards you bought just because they are cool, fun or visually appealing -no regard to value

Here are 4 of mine: Ozark Ike because of the six baseballs, DeBusschere because it's cool to see the NBA hall of famer on a baseball card, Corrales because it's one of the more legendary Topps action photos out there and the OPC Aaron Special because the Topps version crams 4 cards onto one (also for the way it shows the similarities between Hank's 1968 and '69 Topps cards):

I thought these were hilarious and had to have them!
Those power up cards are cool. Reminds me of the 'big head' bobble heads that were out several years back.
Here are a couple of fun ones:
Bosox1976
Great stuff there, Mike. I had never heard of those Dinosaurs Attack cards and those 71T vending cards look great.
1948 National Comics Publications - Superman Premium
1965 James Bond #19 James Bond Secret Service Agent 007

Never saw these as a kid, but with early pins of Mattingly, Strawberry and Gooden I had to have them…
@BaltimoreYankee lol! Exactly what I was thinking at the time of purchase! Heck 3 of them are worth $1.45 ea. so they already paid for themselves! 🤣
This card has so much! The centering, colors, French writing and the traded line!
ON ITS WAY TO NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92658
I was a huge Snake fan as a kid and also remembered getting these back in the day. A total nostalgia romp for me when I saw it and had to have it.
1974 National Periodical
Looney Tunes
Here is another one that I though was just too cool to pass up:
1908 Felix Potin Series 2 Harry Elkes
1999 Upper Deck Launchers. They have a superfractor look to them, released way before the Topps version existed. These are only about $3 each.
None of these have a ton a value but I love having them.
Great idea for a thread!!
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
One of my favorite Payton cards, worth about $20 in this grade.
Mark Lee about to have a bad day.
Great card and I have a copy in my 1981 OPC set. It looks like a "3D" card. My favorite part about this card is that the ball looks like it is going to come out of the card.
buying O-Pee-Chee (OPC) baseball
Only copy ever graded by any grading service. But, more importantly, it’s a great image of the GOAT with stunning color.
Great group posted here. Am enjoying the presentation.
Forgot about these. Got a few of them packed away somewhere.
One of my favorite sets. Always liked these cartoon-like cards. Reminds me of a time when cards were for education and entertainment instead of for investment and speculation.
I picked up this one because it's my last name.
Two random ones I just love.
some original pencil drawing cards by Mike Noren
It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
Haven’t bought one yet but I’m tempted to buy a 1957 Art Donovan because the “action” photo on the right cracks me up. I saw this one on eBay earlier today.
Nice! Do you have any cards of Travis Morin in hockey then? I collect him as I collect any player that was on the Minnesota State University Mavericks hockey team. He also played for the AHL Texas Stars near Austin (where I'm at), and is now a assistant coach.
1st autos from a lic product of my fav 80s martial arts stars. The Chuck and Jean Claude are 1/1 and the Seagal is /2
I’m usually very disciplined about staying in my lane, but for some reason I bought this pack a few years ago…
Paul…
How old is the Disney pack? Very cool pack!
I believe it is a Donruss pack from 1965…
One of the first graded cards I purchased for my Buckner collection. Love the image, an action shot with the bunting in the background.
These hit many nostalgic strings for me as my cousin had a complete set when we were growing up. They had more money than us so when I heard they were from the full size tray packages available at the grocery store, I knew I’d never have them right then and there. Fast forward, it was pretty funny coming across a complete package, sans candy, while searching for some Stsr Wars cards and so I wanted to have the whole set and the whole array of candy products, also. Patience paid off and I actually have snagged a full complete Luke; I jjust can’t find the scan for it so I’ve included the placeholder. Between the card images and the package coloring, they’re just a visual treat. Enjoy ‘em:
1980 Hershey’s Star Wars ESB - R2-D2 and C-3PO
1980 Hershey’s Star Wars ESB - Darth Vader
1980 Hershey’s Star Wars ESB - Chewbacca

I totally should. That would be a fun (small) set to go after - people with my last name.
Mo Lewis and Greg Jefferies Glossy. Mo lewis because he can arguably be looked at as the force behind the start of the legend of Tom Brady. Greg jefferies Glossy just because the childhood nostalgia of looking through my binder and I never had any of the Glossy cards.
This card perfectly encapsulates what made a 9 year old Cubs fan cry.
Love Sutter this is the one of his I bought because I wanted a Pepsi and thought the only Cub was fitting.
That 1980 Pepsi set is just perfect.
And a 12 year old Cardinal fan HAPPY (sorry, man ). I was such a huge Sutter fan. Good thing for us that no one seems to want to pay for his cards so they're relatively affordable. Here's my favorite in my collection.
Sutter's story is pretty remarkable, and a lot of pieces had to fall right into place. That's a nice '77. I wish I had a 10/10 of his 1977 RC.
My collection in general has always been about what I liked and value was always secondary. Oddball always ruled over basic Topps singles and sets. The more obscure, the better. Thankfully I had pretty good taste in things and a good bit of what I picked up along the way also increased in value from when I bought it. Win/win!
The 78 Topps Doug Ault is my go to answer for a question like this. That card fascinated me as a kid. The distant "action" shot, the color contrast with the infield dirt and grass, the trophy, the expansion Blue Jays were still new and exciting to me (as were the Mariners) and of course, a Munson cameo. Then to have it signed was a bonus.
Ault ended up taking his own life at a relatively young age in 2004.
This isn't my card, stole the scan from ebay, but this is near cardboard perfection (aside from the terrible centering on this copy).
I liked that Doug Ault card from the first day I saw it in 1978. A classic!
Absolutely. Iconic from that set and one of the coolest photos of that season's issue.
Ironically, the Munson is also one of the coolest in the set.

Thanks for posting this!
Wasn't aware of these, picked a 15 card set up for $20.00 delivered. Lots of great hitters.
