Good to "hear" you found an extra "ear". Are you keeping it or selling it?
Thanks!
Well, after further examination. Unfortunately, I'm noticing the carbon spots, plus, the dreaded two scratches on Abe's shoulder!
At least the coin is RED.
Oh well. Still awesome. I might sell?

Keep it Joey! That's a trophy coin!!!!!!
Selllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the one variety I always hoped I’d find. Congratulations! It looks very good considering it’s now 40 years old and was found in circulation.
Awesome. Congrats.
What is the demand for this variety? What is it worth? LMC are not a set I actively collect or know too much about but have heard of this one.
It’s a popular Redbook variety. If it grades AU maybe $50-$80. A 64RD, which is the highest I see that coin going would be $140.
Fantastic find. Congratulations.

Yes it's unfortunate for the scratches, basically ruins and devalues the coin 10-fold And sometimes a severely scratched coin ($650) gets a pass by three graders, a finalist and straight-graded. A recent experience. And will continue to cost every unsuspecting individual who crossws paths with such a coin mainly in return fees ($22.10 for me) Such coins need net-graded so collectors can bid accordingly if they want to settle for a damged PMD example of a tough variety. Hopefully, eventually, someone will get enough courage to have the label corrected, suffer the expenses, take a huge loss and say, hey, this coin is scratched, how did all you not see the scratches? I found them in 10 seconds! I'm one old guy, a nobody but know enough when I see a damaged PMD coin. The seller keeps apologizing to me for not being satisfied with the coin! What's there to like about a scratched ruined coin??
And I'm aware the OP here does not have plans to submit his coin.

Cool!
Besides being the DDO, the coin is a perfect example of the problems the mint had with the zinc cents.
