Same simple question as my coin #1 post (link to thread):
The coin arrived at CAC this week. Guesses on the result?

No, due to marks on each side.

Surfaces are nice, couple of marks but IMO they are small and not distracting. It only needs to pass as a 66. Given the minimal price spread between 65 & 66, I think it stickers mostly as a referendum on surface originality.

Tough one for me. Technically it’s on the edge. Color wise it’s original skin like they like, but questionable on the eye appeal. Then again I have seen dogs in CAC plastic and this is nowhere a dog. When in doubt, lean NO with CAC.
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
Given that I'm in the minority, does anyone want to make a friendly (small) wager?

I passed due to lack of luster....at least from what I can tell from the photos.

No and it's fugly looking to me as well

good luck. I won't even guess as that is what it would be without in hand.
Yeah, even money. GS for a 66CAC is $38. Booked!

I think it just squeaks through as a green bean, but would not cross to CACG with the +.

Oh wow, I didn’t realize this coin was that cheap. There’s a good chance it will squeak by at those levels. Regardless, I’ll take the action.

That's one of the reasons I feel confident. It's a huge price jump to 67. But for the real reason behind stickering (originality, JA being willing to buy sight unseen), this seems like a slam dunk to me.

I'll offer free images of the coin to @P0CKETCHANGE if it does sticker - with the caveat being that he might have to wait a little bit before I can actually do the images for him.

Put me down at green.
The splotchy reverse toning makes it a no IMHO,,,,,,,
I think it will get a green sticker at MS66.

I will guess a green sticker. That’s the type of original look that seems to sticker.
No looks too dullish to me.
Result: CAC Green
I bought this coin for my toned WQ set, and I didn't really care if it beaned but thought it had about a 50/50 shot. The hits on the cheek don't preclude a solid 66 IMO, but there's nothing "wow" about the coin either.
CAC pop (stickered + graded) is now 36 in MS66, with 41 in MS67. There's a 7x price jump between 66 and 67, so I'm happy to max this date out in my set with a 66+ CAC.
The forum was overwhelmingly against this one passing (85% vs. 15%), but a few folks joined me including @TomB and @lermish who prevailed in the friendly wager with @DeplorableDan
@FlyingAl I also intend to take you up on the free photo offer

@P0CKETCHANGE - the free photo is yours for the taking! It will unfortunately be a little while until I am back open for business. I'll keep you updated.

I would have said no. Original, but not very attractive, IMO
Tom
I won't buy it for the price connected with the grade.
