Kennedy Specialists Can You Help a Brother Out?

I’m trying to catalog and see what’s missing for Kennedy’s for my type set. To further clarify I’m trying to collect each type, and then each possible finish in that type, (PCGS categorization) No varieties, errors, etc. I know the lines can kind of blur but I think I’m getting to the end of getting this sorted. Here’s what I have:

Ty1 1964 MS, PR, + 1998 SP, + 2018 Rev PR
Ty2 65-70 MS, PR, SP
Ty3 71-current MS, PR, 2017 Enh MS, 2019 Rev PR, SP 05-10, MS PL
Ty4 1976 Clad: MS, PR, Silver: MS, PR
Ty5 50th Ann: 14 Clad, MS, PR, Rev PR, Enh MS, Gold

I am under the belief that the 2014 Rev PR and Enh MS are NOT the same as the ‘18 & ‘19??

Good Lord for virtually the same coin there are A LOT of types. Nothing else modern has so many for the virtually same obverses and reverses. Only the type 3 seems to be readily available in PL.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

Interesting. Seems to be quite a few more residing in NGC slabs. Very few in our host’s. I’m thinking that’d be a tough cross and one I’d have to acquire in person to even attempt. Thanks for pointing that out!

Other early dates too (although NGC is a bit liberal on this designation).

Thank you, Wayne! I knew I’d miss something and it appears that would be the ‘92 plus silver proof issues.

I’m somewhat surprised the 2019 - current silver proofs are still considered type 1 having moved to .999 purity from the .900. Akin to the difference in type 1 and 2’s, or even type 3 and 4 Lincoln cents. Although, a much more significant change in metal content, so maybe I’m comparing apples to oranges…

That’s a handsome boy you got right there. Looks super clean, which many of them no longer are. Lots of icky toning and spotting issues. I think it has something to do with the matte finish?

I’ve owned at least a dozen (69’s) over the years that I flipped or traded away. Looking to grab yet another 69 at Summer FUN because that is just one of those coins I simply MUST buy in person for some reason. This is also one of those coins where I’m all super OCD about getting a high quality 69 and saving the 70 money. Of the many 69 I’ve personally acquired, probably 90% were better looking or equivalent than a lot of the 70’s I’ve seen. Just my observations.

Can you tell that this is my absolute favorite Kennedy hands down? I’m a sucker for a matte finish.

A mint error, so you don’t need it for a type set, a Type 3 struck on a 40% silver planchet.

I want to see an enhanced uncirculated coin next to a real one.

I can do this just as soon as this set I won from GC this past weekend arrives!
I never really thought the whole "enhanced uncirculated" was a fitting moniker to describe the finish.

I've always loved the SMS/SP half dollars and nickels in particular. The 1997 ones in particular are my favorite. I could be crazy, but I feel like they have a different look compared to other years.
