Ok here goes. 1909-S, MS-65+
1910D, MS-65.
I’m guessing it’s a situation where both coins are strong for the grade. I’ll guess 65 and 63/64, though I think the first would be 66 without the hits on Miss Liberty’s cap.
65
66 & 65
Top: 65+, Bottom: 65

Top coin - Details Unc (pvc)
Bottom coin - MS64
66/65
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
I’ll guess 65 for both.
64/63, but I’m probably low.
Some good guesses so far. NO ONE has guessed either coin correctly though. Both are straight graded though.
67 and 66 respectively

I am encouraged by what the forum thinks about these two dimes. I thought they were much better than MS62s. I am looking forward to seeing them in hand. I suspect the luster is muted and the toning hides some issues.
The only reason I can see the 09 S in a 62 holder is that the luster is dull. The only what I thought were legit 62s were no question unc coins, but either thick toning obscured some of the coin's luster, or the coin was just dull.

Both are well struck, unmarked tough dates with very low CAC numbers - one CAC for each in MS62. What seems to determine the MS grades for Barber dimes is the amount of luster. Often these dimes were "cleaned" long ago which may account for the MS62 grades.
Interesting. I haven’t had enough experience with new GC photos. My initial impression was that of muted luster, but wondered if it was only the photo technique. I guessed MS65 for both, but I am not surprised by the actual grades.
They look so nice, I’m wondering if there’s a minor bit of rub on the high points. Technical AU58s, but nice enough that the graders bumped them to MS.
Nice ones - they looked better than 62. I thought 63/64 but didn’t post my guess in time.

Wow! I was way off and way over, at 66 and 65, though the NGC pics make them look correctly graded.

The photos of them in their holders scream MS62. Correctly graded.
