    Nice, who minted it?

    Is it real tho?

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

Is it a troy pound or an actual pound?
Troy pound is 12 troy ounces.

Is that a troy pound, or avoirdupois pound?

    1 troy pound = 12 troy ounces = 373.2 grams
    1 av. pound = 16 av. ounces = 453.5 grams

one thing that is bothersome is that it doesn't have the % fineness

Why do you think so? I would lean towards genuine silver.

Lots of times this sort if thing is marked on the edge. Maybe the OP can provide an edge pic.

    Ah, a troy pound.

Well, does it weigh 373.2 grams (13.16 av. ounces)? If "yes", then I'd lean towards authentic.

I recall those being marketed in the early 1990s. Probably real.

Interesting that the 1991 on the APMEX website says “1LB. Fine Silver” on Rev.
Whereas OP’s 1991 says “One Pound Fine Silver” on Rev.

Usually these one-pound silver rounds come in a case or box with a certificate of authenticity that includes information concerning the manufacturer, weight, and fineness.

I like the one-pound gold by the US Mint. I keep a list of 21 different edge numbered examples that have been listed and weighed at major auctions the past 20 years and they range from 455.5 to 468.6 grams, so they are all greater than one av. pound.

Their average weight is 14.86 troy ounces of .900 fine gold and are 3-inches in diameter. My example is still in an NGC holder, but it will be in a PCGS holder within a month. This is from a 2022 Stacks auction photo.

Wow I never heard of these huge gold medals from the US Mint. And I was an avid reader of Coin world and Coins Magazine in middle school (mid-70s).
