The 'Coin Board Hoard': 1700+ Vintage Coin Boards, Folders, and Albums coming up for sale
'The Coin Board Hoard' is finally happening. I'm in Green Bay, Wisconsin to sort through and prepare the sale of the world's largest collection of Coin Boards.
There are over 1700+ Coin Boards, Folders, and Albums. This hoard is a combination of David Lange and Don Kocken's personal collection of vintage coin boards.
David Lange was THE expert and pioneer in the study of coin boards. Coin boards predate folders and albums. It introduced coin collecting to the wider public because coin boards were affordable for the average family. David wrote the definitive book on coin boards, "Coin Collecting Boards of the 1930s and 1940s". After he passed in 2023, his collection went to Don Kocken.
Don Kocken is a major dealer in the coin board world. He wrote the book "Collecting Vintage Coin Boards, Albums, Folders, & Holders: 1930's and Beyond." Don has passed his and David's entire collection to a caretaker whom I am helping to sell this collection.
All coin boards are in protective sleeves and graded. Most boards are in exceptional condition, thanks to David and Don's amazing preservation.
It's an honor to go through and prepare the listing of some of the rarest coin boards ever made.
If you have a specific vintage board, folder, or album, or just want to stay in the loop as I get the listings prepared, please send me a dm or drop a comment. I will send over photos if you have a specific item you're looking for.
The rarest items will be listed on ebay auction while the rest will be a ebay BIN or private sale.
Spread the word, and please tag anyone who may want to check out this once in a generation offer.
I will be posting updates all day tomorrow on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6P4OUruieI/?igsh=MW56dTFyeGM1a3JlMw==

Curious here as well.
The last two days here in Green Bay, Wisconsin have been exhausting, thrilling, and outright daunting with preparing the 'Coin Board Hoard'.
Most of the 1700 items have been cataloged, sorted, and priced. The main challenge now is getting everything listed on Ebay with photos. I've set up listing templates that detail the manufacturer of the item, a background of the manufacturer written by Don, the grade, and the coin series.
Apologies for the late responses to inquiries and questions. My time here is short, so I had to prioritize the collection.
It is now in the hands of the collection caretaker to take photos of the items and set the listing as active. He is less tech savvy than I am, so I ask for your patience as he prepares the listings.
What I saw in this collection was mind-boggling. The first edition of the very first coin boards that revolutionized the accessibility of coin collecting to the public. A prototype of the very first Whitman coin folder. Obscure one of a kind albums. The finest known boards and folders from every manufacturer. I held real numismatic history in my hands.
It was an immense privilege to prepare the collecting legacy of David Lange and Don Kocken.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I will update the community when I have another update to share.

@AlbumNerd I am in need of any Barber material-related single page series holders. I have seen a Wayte Raymond/National light-brown tall Board one-pager for quarters, for instance (1892-1916-D). I know it exists as I have seen collector V.S.'s version.
Curious on what is available Barber-wise?
A Barber Quartet is made up of Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and Halves.
There are quite a number of coin boards for Barber coins. They are made by Whitman and go under the name
They have not been listed yet, but the Ebay account selling them is "Coin Board Hoard"
Cool, I’ll be watching too

I wish I was still in Wisconsin to help the collector list more items faster! But we're at his mercy now
This is listed now, do you remember what company made it?

I wasn't able to find anything about who manufactured these albums. The only thing mentioned in the album was a sticker saying "REY STAMP CO in Manila, Philippines". That most likely indicated that it was the coin shop that sold these albums.
Just purchased 7 items. Thank you, looking forward to receiving them.

Your list does not mention anything Barber-related (Morgan Head). Am I missing something out of your previous text?
Thanks, Tim

It states right on the page that opens when you click the eBay store link above:
"We are sold out, but here are some other stores you may be interested in."

I meant to update this thread earlier. A larger buyer has come in and purchased the rest of the hoard. Everything is sold out!
