What a great Transitional year for Coins, with both variety of Double Eagle being made, including some outstanding High reliefs and rolled edges.

Post a coin from 1907 if you have one!

While 1907 twenties are a very common issue, it is rare in prooflike condition. NGC has graded 19 over the past 20 years and PCGS only 1. This coin is the only 1 with CAC approval, though CACG has graded an MS61PL.

That looks like it’s been gold plated. I met a dealer at show who had a gold plated 1883 No Cents nickel, which is not unusual, AND an 1884 gold plated nickel. They both looked freshly done which might have indicated that someone got a bit carried away.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Fun to see all the 1907 no-motto $10 Indians on this thread -- that's something that's been on my list a long while.

@BillJones - That's funny you should say that. I was thinking the same thing when I took the picture. I was wearing an orange t-shirt when I took the picture.

No, it's the reflection off the shirt. It's a straight nickel color. But you have a great eye! 👍

You're up to 1909, which is a pretty significant year, too.

Does this mean that we'll have to post a coin for every year since as your post count rises?

The total pop in this grade is 70 (50 by PCGS, 20 by NGC). Of those 70, only 7 have a CAC sticker:
