I know the condition is not the best, but could this be a 1923 2 feather? I seems to recall this is the hardest one to find. Thanks for any input.

The 17 S and 21 S are the hardest ones to locate.

Sure looks like a 23 2F. I have found the 23 was the most elusive one by far.
If I recall correctly, the 1913-S Type 1 and the 1923 are the two most difficult to find. This one looks like a 1923, but it is so low grade that it might be difficult to find a buyer for it. Two feather Buffaloes without full dates are very difficult to sell.

Looks like the real deal to me. The CoinFacts photo shows some die chips around liberty as a potential die marker, although I suspect they would’ve worn off by the grade you are showing. Awesome find! CoinFacts seems to show a population of a whopping three. I have been working on a variety album set for years and I’ve never seen one in the marketplace place

Your 23 2F is very rare and is worth grading with the variety attribution. Go For It, you will not regret it.
You know what I think about it

How about one with no date at all?

Very nice! I have been hunting 2 feathers for 20 years and never found a 23.
It’s the only one graded by NGC. I think PCGS has only graded 3 or 4

Congrats, a truly rare variety
Looks like NGC must have some pretty quick turn around too
