Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

I picked up a bunch of Byzantine coppers and posted on the ancients forum which were quite helpful.

The detail and workmanship of those ancient and medieval coins always amazes me, as does the fact that any of the coins survive in such exceptional condition.

Even more amazing when you consider the artistry far surpasses the dogs that make up the majority of our modern coinage. Coins produced by the most powerful nation to ever exist on the planet and with astronomical technological advances…..

@JBK You are correct in your observation. This coin is 2/3 the size
of a Lincoln cent and half as thick. Victor D. Brenner had relatively
a good pair of glasses to help with vision deterioration and a good
magnifying glass. The Medieval die creator had neither of these aids.
I am also amazed at the detail the coin has and how well it survived.

The last few years, I've posted this coin at Easter. Truly grateful for the sacrifice
the Son of our Father, our Savior took. Time for us to think of His resurrection
and what it means to us all. HAPPY EASTER

People are not going to like this, and I believe OP means only to share his heartfelt religious beliefs, but...

    All?

To me, Easter means an excuse for the persecution of my ancestors. It was also the trigger for pogroms that caused the death of many of my not so distant relatives.

When posting blatantly religious topics, please remember that they don't apply to ALL and that this is a coin discussion board.

Back on topic, that is a gorgeous coin that is in astounding shape 700 years later.

To be fair, I think "all" is meant to include the possibility of resurrection for all. It isn't meant to imply that everyone celebrates Easter.

That said, I hate this thread, despite being raised Catholic. Lol. If he had just posted the Byzantine coin, he would have been told it was the wrong forum. Throw in religion and it's dangerously off topic.

I have a carpenter named Jesus. I doubt many of you celebrated his arrival but I consider him a savor for many of my problems.
