There haven't been many GTG's in a while. Got this half today and I'm very pleased. Took a chance and bought this from a listing with very poor photos. Curious if you guys agree with the grade on the PCGS slab. I hope these photos suffice.
Edited to add second set of photos.

Unc details scratched to death around the L in Liberty?
Hint: It is NOT in a Details holder. I don't think those are scratches. There is a slight film on the coin and those marks are a disturbance in the film.

It looks like is has remarkable luster which is not uncommon for the date.
I'd grade it a 65+ but I'm guessing it went 66 anyway.
66+. Can't quite commit to a 67
66 is my WAG
As is mine.

I'll go 67. Too bad it's not the no FG variety.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

It is MS66. I think it is a nice 66 with definite 67 potential. Maybe it's the picture quality but the fields are super clean the shield is pretty clean, and there's just not that many marks on it. The few it has are tiny and the luster is nice.
Here is my 67 for comparison although it’s a different look altogether.
Nice coin.
The reverse is extremely nice and is worthy of a 67.
I believe there is just too much marking on the cheek to go higher.
A lot of '72-D half dollars have a nice thick creamy luster that makes you want to grade them higher.
