What are the best coin shows in Florida (besides FUN)? 🐊

Looking to get myself to a few more shows in my home state this year.

I know there's a Sarasota and Tampa show (both new) coming up, but what else should be on my radar?

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

    Lakeland is pretty good.
I’ve heard that the Ocala show is good, but I’ve never attended it.

I read in Gerry Fortin’s blog that as of now he’s “Underwhelmed” by the marketing effort of the promoters of the new Sarasota show. He’s attending, and he seems to recall there will be only about 40 dealers or so for this three day show. He’s concerned that if there’s insufficient foot traffic, many of the dealers will pack up early.

He implies the new Tampa Show could be a nice success.

My opinion is Lakeland is the best outside of fun. I have also done well at the Crystal River show.

I used to love the Ocala show. Not for buying. Mostly for smack talking

Ocala had a pretty good sized room when I rented a table there as a dealer. Since Lakeland includes other collectables in addition to coins, my perception was that Ocala was better. It has moved since I attended that show.

Clearwater had a good show too, but once more, I only attended it as a dealer, and the location has changed since I went to it over a decade ago.

The West Palm Beach Coin Club has a monthly show that is pretty active. I have been to it once after a political button show, last year. I hope to make that show again at the end of the month.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
