I'm new to the forum so please bare with me as I gain knowledge. I have come across a 2017 D Nickle that I think has a die error or a machine error. Can anyone tell me what I have here. Thanks

Welcome to the forum
Not a die error or machine error.
That is die deterioration doubling caused by a worn die.

It appears you may have a coin from worn dies (die erosion) with some machine doubling.
It's not a true doubled die.
Thanks much, I certainly appreciate your comments.
It’s spelled “Nickel”.
But it rhymes with "pickle"![B) B)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/sunglasses.png)
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Die wear as stated above.
