First things first - YOU CANNOT POST A COIN YOU OWN!
Please post a coin that someone showed you that they own or owned where you were just blown away by it. Perhaps it was simply fantastic for the grade, has wonderful color, is contrasted, etc. Have fun with it!
I'll start - this 1939 D half @Eldorado9 owns is my absolute favorite Walker of his. The fields are so clean, the luster is perfect, and it's just amazing in so many ways. I had seen quite a few of his Walkers, which are all really really good, but when I saw this one I knew it was the best of the lot, and I set it down and said "Oh wow, that's incredible."

I don’t have a picture, but there was a recent auction at Heritage with a chain cent in AU 58 that I can’t stop thinking about.

The one I remember most is the 1938 Proof Cameo half dollar belonging to Skyman. It has been posted many times in forum threads. Perhaps someone will find the photos of that coin, copy them and paste them into this thread.
Found it.

This is the most incredible coin I have ever held in my hand, and expensive for that matter too! I originally posted it about 2 years ago. I was visiting a local B&M and it was a slow day for the owner. I asked if he had anything cool come in. He smiled and pulled this out! Apparently, it had come in RAW along with several other raw proof coins from an old estate he purchased and had PCGS grade. Most of the ones were in the PR63/64 range, but this one below remains a pop 1/0 to this day! FWIW, it is not for sale as the dealer wanted to keep it and pass it along to his family.
Thank you my friend @hfjacinto , you are so VERY kind.
My favorites, hands down, are the large Proof Gold coins owned by @Floridafacelifter . Several of his coins were even chosen by PCGS for full page shots each on their free calendar sent yearly to Collectors Club members. (I don’t recall getting that this year - why is that????). The first time I saw his coins, it ruined my keyboard, from all of my drool falling out of my mouth!

Actually, lol, it was his older coins, such as his Liberty Gold coins, that I grade MS71, that I had in mind.

@winesteven - Ah, yes, those are wonderful as well.
We’ll call the two I posted as extra coins I found incredible, lol.

This was in a recent Great Collections auction. I collect Commemoratives and this was the nicest Lafayette I've ever seen. Usually ones that are CAC are NOT nicely toned. But a 65+ was just beyond my budget!

This original 1900 proof set posted by Legend a while back, pretty much took my breath away. Still does....I love it. Wish it was mine.

This is not only one of the nicest chopmark ed seated halves I have seen which avg F-VF. It is one of the finest preserved 1855s halves which is a famous first year condition rarity. It’s all there for what it is. One of those coins you never forget
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
This is not the rarest coin in the world, but this is the first large cent I ever saw. I saw this coin in my first trip to a coin shop in June 2020. Earlier in 2020, I had taken-up collecting coins from pocket change. I had no idea that large cents even existed... and I was amazed at the condition (it was nicer than the coins I was finding in change).
I asked the shopkeeper the price, and I was astounded. I thought the shop and the entire hobby was crazy for such "ridiculous pricing for a penny." But, the coin haunted me and I thought about that coin every day for the next two months. It was the first Large Cent I ever bought. Since that time, I have seen LCs that are nicer... and many that are more rare... but this one will always be special to me. It's my first large cent. I have shared the story (and coin) a few times, but this truly was a standout moment for me. When I got this coin, I could have pinned it to my chest I was so proud. I think it's the first time I felt like a "real" coin collector.
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
Here is one that I had to pleasure to see just recently from a friend that I fell in love with! Included is my write up from my post on instagram @jad_numismatics:
An absolutely incredible 1939-D Oregon! Never ending deep violets give way to aqua and fire red centered by luscious warm honey gold on the obverse. The tab toning really brings out the uniqueness and adds to the character of this piece. The popular and beautiful James Earle Fraser design is really set off by pristine mark free surfaces and extravagant toning. Deep purple and ocean blue on the reverse give the design a fresh and vibrant look. The photos do not capture the richness and fullness of the colors that this coin inhibits. To complete the package, the coin is housed in a conservatively graded ultra gem flawless Generation 3 gold embossed NGC holder! This coin has been tucked away out of the public eye for decades, never crossing an auction block. Would sure to bring spirited bidding if ever offered for sale.
I forgot, but I do have a picture of a coin that belongs to a friend or at least it did several years ago I don’t know if he still owns it…
I took the picture, but it’s not my coin obviously:

Ha, this was the first coin that came to mind for me as well.
These were owned by another forum member. I helped him with the photo editing about 20 years ago. I had just figured out how to merge layers together in coin images so as to use one photo image spliced onto another image of the same coin in order to get rid of glare spots.
I spent several hours editing these pictures so the owner could have pictures that captured the colors like they looked in hand. It was fun, but these pictures forever spoiled collecting classic Commemoratives for me because they looked so nice but were way out of my budget. The ones I could afford just looked so drab in comparison that I ended up never even trying to collect MS graded Classic Commemoratives.
But it’s a big part of the reason I’m collecting common Civil War Tokens with nice color lately, they are so much more affordable and just as classic in their designs.

Sigh
I could use that one.

Some beauties come to mind:
First, @DRUNNER showed me his monster rainbow Morgan ‘Bag Burn’ at a 2015 show, raw, prior to it being graded. I took this quick pic on the bourse…
And then this one comes to mind from @Lakesammman — another quick bourse pic — ridiculously PQ and delicately toned cameo Trade $ that also happens to be in a Doily …
…..And there are many, many others through the years ……..
These have always impressed the hell out of me:

I think this coin that I got to see, hold and photograph last week at Stacks & Bowers Gallery in Boston qualifies
Mr_Spud
That's at the Stacks in Boston I go there pretty often, have bought a couple coins there, my goodness I don't imagine they would show it to just anyone...?
The lady in the store voluntarily pulled the slabbed coin out of a display cabinet that was in their front window and handed it to me. I didn’t ask to see it and I didn’t know it was there. She was very eager to show it off to me. I thought it was strange, but didn’t argue. I thought it was great that she showed it to me and let me hold it and take pictures like that.

I had the pleasure of seeing and holding this coin on 9-8-2023 at the Long Beach show.
I go green with envy when I see that coin Nic....It is so totally superb. Thanks for posting.
This was a pretty amazing coin to have seen in person at the most recent Long Beach show! Horrible picture but it's the only one I got to take before getting to hold it for a brief minute.

Here's the official photo from across the street:
Duting the ANA, at US Coin & jewelry's booth, I saw the top pop 3 leaves flowing hair dollar. A gentleman working the booth saw me admiring it and I asked if I could take a picture of the coin. He appreciate me asking and shortly after I snapped a photo he asked if I wanted to see it closer and handed me it. I was honestly a bit nervous but was happy to view the reverse. An absolute dream coin!
A member showed me this at a show.

I saved these photos years ago, I have never seen it in person but I would love to. I think TomB did some digging, the cert is no longer active, it was probably cracked and re-graded somewhere along the road.
