One question though- if Redfield got his silver dollars straight from the bank, and threw them down the coal chute, and then Paramount bought the hoard and put them in these red holders for sale, when where and how did this coin obtain its lovely blue album toning?
Based on my research and experience I believe Paramount dipped a lot of the Redfields before slabbing. And the toning was from the cardboard inserts. Redfield toning in my experience is always with a bullseye pattern which is consistent with the insert touching the edges of the coin. Never seen a bag toned Redfield in the Paramount holder, although there are a few bag toned Morgans in the non-Redfield Paramount holders. The coin in this thread shows exceptional toning for a Redfield.

It’s very pretty, the toning really highlights the design of the coin in a very nice way

What does a 1900-S MS-66+ (or even a 66) sell for in a regular holder.....and how much would this one go for ?
In other words, is there a big premiuum for a Redfield holder ?
nice coin, I wonder if the photo is juiced?
