Please Help Me Decide. Which Coin Would You Prefer And Why?

I am thinking of adding one of these two coins to my type collection. Which would you prefer and why. Thanks for your responses

I prefer the 1937.
From the limited photographic information given, the 1940 looks like it might have two nicks above LIBERTY as well as something below it in addition to what might be an old toning line in front of the portrait. The 1937 however, looks remarkably clean and even toned. The reverse of the 1940 I like better than the 1937, but not so much to have it overtake the 1937.
Of course, these imperfections or observations might not be on the coins at all and may simply be on the holders.

I like the 37 better. Earlier date that just looks smoother.

Neither, I don't like red copper.

From those photos..... absolutely no idea.
Spot on the 1940 under liberty caught my eye instantly. So, I'd go 37.
The 1937 has better eye appeal. No blemishes to the naked eye.
Is there something missing under the ear on the 1940, or is that just the lighting?
If your reason for preferring neither coin is that you don’t like red copper, why reply at all? The question posed wasn’t what people thought of red copper.
In answer to the question that was asked, I’d go with the 1937, as it looks cleaner.

Suggestion, if you like both why not buy the pair. Maybe you can do a layaway.
Or it's possible you don't need both but just a thought.
I've done this before myself and it worked out great.
I do know this is not always possible.

i like the 1937, it just looks a whole lot better to me (cleaner coin to me for starts)
I much prefer the '37.
The '40 has more intense red, but it has small visual distractions on the obverse (above and below Liberty) that I can't tolerate.
I like the 37. Spot on 40 below Liberty and on 40 reverse by the E of E Pluribus are both detractors.
