Even if he buys his way out of it MLB knows what he did. The money laundering charges leads me to believe there must be financial records of it. That would be a weird charge to pull out of no where as an add on if there werent
Its true, there will be a full investigation by MLB as well. It will most likely be more intricate and detailed that the one performed by the corrupt DR police. It looks really really bad for Wander right now
MLB almost certainly already knows what theyre going to do and are just waiting for the criminal charges to play out Theyve been investigating since before they put him on leave. If he goes to jail Tampa doesnt have to pay him and he cant appeal anything. Any MLB suspension he still wouldnt get paid, but could appeal and sue to overturn it. It makes their life easier if he just goes to jail
Blows my mind that none of them seem to be able to figure out how little money they keep asking from him for things is. Its like they dont know he gets paid in USD.
Now itll be up to MLB to keep him off the field. Tampas not going to eat that massive contract cutting him unless they think they could get it voided in court

A fool and his money are soon parted. No winners here all around.
