Life is too short for cat and mouse games. Think of it this way. The precious time that is wasted, is time you will never get back.
This is the exact statement he should have said to the company the first time they “lost” the coin. Essentially ask them for a credit on your account for time spent/lost, and used that credit now to buy the coin again.
Asking them for such a credit sounds like a good recipe for wasting even more time.
You don't value spite? Lol
I have a friend who hates telemarketers. I don't pick up if I have the slightest hint it might be. He jumps right on it and then tries to keep them on the phone as long as possible. Gives them fake names and email addresses. Occasionally, he can get them angry and he is thrilled if they curse at him.
Everyone needs a hobby....
The suggestion that was made doesn’t sound like the same thing as what your friend does,
It's not...other than as an example of people willing to inconvenience themselves in order to "punish" (loosely) someone else.

I was bored one day, and answered a scam artist. This one was "selling" extended car warranties.
I exclaimed that I was thrilled he called, since my car could use an extended warranty. He was pleased that I was pleased, and sent me on to a level-2 scammer.
L2 asked me what my car is; I told him it was a 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
He didn't think it was funny. I thought it was hilarious.
I did the opposite once just to see what the quote would be, but I never got one. Apparently they didn't know how to calculate the warranty costs of a 1988 Cutlass with 300,000 miles.

Sooooo, what was the decision on buying this coin?
They were closed yesterday. It's been on my calendar since they opened this morning, and 4 hours later I found a chance to step away and call. They don't have it and it will be removed from the site. They think my guess was correct--when they reversed the sale the first time, it accidentally put the coin back in stock. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

It's hard to believe that you can't find a couple of minutes during your workday to just call the coin dealer and discuss this coin. If you're concerned that your coworkers may listen to your conversation, take a short walk outside and call the dealer.
Unfortunately there are many jobs out there where your every minute is monitored, and yes even rules on your "breaks" are quite strict. Things like "not allowed just to stand outside" is not unusual, and by the time you walk/drive away from company property you just don't get much time to make a phone call that may take a bit. Plus if you work downtown in any major city finding a place you can make a phone call where you'd rather not have an audience is especially difficult.
The OP is a professional and I would be willing to bet he is given a lunch break and he isn't chained to his desk all day long.
I can walk away from my desk, yes, but I work in a huge building where finding a private space is difficult, and cell signals vary from just fine to nonexistent (which can make it difficult to take a stroll while making a phone call). It happens that the weather today is lovely, but this time of year, going outside usually means cold, wet, and miserable, and no outside areas are covered. Can I make a personal call? Yes. Is it annoying to do so, also yes.

I was hoping for a waaaaay more exciting conclusion to this story.
Don't despair. My guess is that sometime in the next few days, a forum member will be offering the coin for sale on the BST for less than it was listed at, Jeremy will try to pounce on it and the seller will tell him it was already sold (or lost).

You don't have to explain way you couldn't call, work is work. I'm glad you got the chance though, sorry it didn't work out

I recall counting the number of days in a row until the concrete completely dried out. I don't recall the best number but I am thinking it was just over 3 weeks.

This morning my coworker was extolling the glorious views as he drove in. I told him that I saw about 100-200’ ahead of me for my entire drive a couple hours earlier.

Sounds like my midday drive from the office to the dentist Tuesday. The wet snow kept hitting my windshield and freezing to the wipers making it impossible for the wipers to clear the entire windshield.
So…my suggestion is to tell the posters here what coin/condition you’re looking for (we don’t know who you’re dealing with anyway) and MAYBE someone here will have the perfect coin for you or know a RELIABLE source to obtain it! Good luck! 😉

You mean like, "with the coin not available, it freed up my cash and I bought out the entirety of CRO's latest Early Bird slate of offerings!" ?
