There seems to be still growing interest in stars, although most collectors are still just pulling from circulation at face value. Some of those collectors may eventually start buying stars at a premium to fill in the holes in their collection. That's how a market with premiums about face value could develop. Maybe you are riding the crest of a building wave.
Still waiting to spot my first Yellen here in the Hudson Valley, star or non star. And you are finding Yellen stars. Keep on searching. I want to see you score BIG on something as a reward for all of your efforts.

That I fed is the only series 2021 star that I have found so far. However I have seen A-A, A-B, B-A, G-A, and H-A $1s and a few L-A $5s. It is kind of strange that my first fives were from the opposite side of the country from me. No Fs is also kind of surprising, as most of the new bills that I get are F-G 2017As. Thanks a lot.
Edit: I found a L-B $1 also.

No, collectors are not much of a consideration for the BEP. The mint courts collector business and interest but the BEP, not so much.
They are not getting rid of stars yet, but it looks like they might eventually.

Last Tuesday, I bought a certain 50 strap. Yesterday, I looked at the strap, and someone had written "48" on it in sharpie. I counted, and sure enough, I got shorted $2. It was one of those ones that someone had signed off on, so they didn't run it through the machine. Next time, I'll make them.

But one dollar bills I thought were only good for a couple years or so in terms of wear and tear while coins can easily last for several decades in general circulation you see.
You know many years back (10-15 at least?) I did manage to get a dollar bill with a serial number 01111110. I think I got like $40-$50 for it selling it on here!

It is true that the average lifespan of a one dollar bill is eighteen months, but, just like the coins, some people save some, and later they get spent. All of the red, brown, and blue seals(except the $2 red) were given to me by hand, and weren’t in straps. The $2 was on the top of a strap made by a teller. I really don’t know whether these old bills are even accepted by the bill counting machines. They probably circulated into the ’70s and then were pulled out. So, it just depends on who turns what old stuff that they don’t know about at which bank. Try enough times, and you’ll find some prizes(unless you are on my area, that is). Post No. 501

The banks haven’t had many ones for about three weeks. I finally found some though. Results were really good for $300; 2 stars(common), and 5 pre-2003 notes including this 1969D-B and this 1981-E. Both are my first of these series/FRB varieties, and the 1981 is my first of this series. I have now found at least one of every series of FRN $1 notes except 1969. Who knew that it is the hardest to find.

Also, I went to a local auction last night, basically because someone’s estate included some coins and currency. All of them were really common, but I barely even had a chance to bid, as some people were bidding two, three, or even four times as much as the item was worth. 18 1957 silver certificates sold for $40, 17 for $40, 9 for $35, and 4 for $17.50! Red seal $2s and $5s were much the same. It was a free for all for these people. 1921 silver dollars were selling for $30 to $40 each! There was even a jar of modern cents that at most held $50 sold for a whopping $115! The only one that I think went for a good price was a pretty worn 1928 $1 LTN for $70. I think that it would have gone higher if I hadn’t stopped at $65. It was a shocking experience for me to see how uninformed or careless people throw lose money like sand.

Just found this in a $100 strap of twos. I saw the H block letter and immediately knew that that wasn’t normal. Upon closer inspection, the top and bottom edges are hand cut from a sheet that was printed for collectors. Any estimate on how many were made with this block, or what it is worth?

Here’s the breakdown of the series 1995 $2 notes. Because of the condition, I would value the note at face value only.

This is the first binary that I have gotten in a while. Unfortunately, it was in mixed and not brand new bills.
Most of the new $1s that I am getting at the present time in quantity(i.g. some consecutives, large quantities) are 2017A-FG and FH blocks and 2021-BA, DB, and DC blocks. I have now seen the following blocks of series 2021 $1 bills: A-A, A-B, B-A, C-A, D-A, D-B, D-C, D-D, G-A, H-A, I-A, I-*, and L-A. I have also seen L-A $5 bills. Currently the new $2 bills that I am getting are 2017A L-A block. I am in Florida, so all the L $2s are odd.

I went to my bank this morning to change a few bills to lower denominations because our big box stores and gas stations were cash only because of the problems going on. Well, it turned out to be my lucky day.
A teller was working behind the back counter that shows me notes he saves. While my teller was getting my transaction completed, I asked him if he had found any cool notes lately. He said no but we just got some new 1 dollar notes in that are in sequence. I said can I see what you have. He brought up a 5 strap bundle and was showing me that they were in sequence. I asked him if I could see the numbers on each of the 5 straps and he obliged. The third strap was a winner as I recognized that if they were truly in sequence, I was going to have a RADAR not far into that strap. So, I said that I would like that one.
It wasn’t my intention to go searching today but was a good day.
Just got this out of $1250 in ones that I bought from the bank. I looked it up at the www.uspapermoney.io pages, but they didn’t have it listed, which I thought was odd. I looked it up with the star note lookup, and found that they only made the second run (K03200001* to K06400000*) and they were all sold at a premium to collectors. Guess that someone spent theirs!
It is a large run, but it fills a hole in my $1 star collection, so I will keep it.

Two new keepers. The 1999-I is a new Series/FRB combo for me, and as it turns out, appears to be the rarest non star FRN $1 variety (excepting FW&DC and web notes.) The 1995-L is my first bill ever found with the block letter Y. I have now found every available block letter for FRNs. Enjoy!

This 6th run 2017A-F bill is my first star note find with a run size of 250,000. This also completes my collection of all six runs. Only twelve runs left for 2017 and 2017A.

How about was used to buy some "Billy Beer"?
